Chapter 95
It seemed that recently, her daughter would often act suspiciously. Li Qin Yao began to wonder if her little girl was hiding something from everyone.
After watching the girl for a while, Li Qin Yao finally walked over to her daughter and called her name. “Li Xue.”
The girl jumped in surprise. Zhang Li Xue sucked in a deep breath. Once she saw that the person who called her was no other than her mother, Zhang Li Xue was finally at ease. “Mommy, you scared me.”
“What are you doing sneaking around? You look like a thief in your own house.”
Zhang Li Xue laughed anxiously. She looked around before turning to her mother again.
Li Qin Yao lowered her gaze and finally saw that her daughter was dressed prettily with a purse in her hand. “Li Xue, are you going out?”
“Mmm...” Zhang Li Xue nodded. “There’s a school reunion. Mommy, I’ve mentioned it to you previously. I’m just worried that my brother will see me and wanted to tag along. You know that Yi Hai liked to stick around with me all the time.”
Li Qin Yao chuckled as she recalled how sticky her son could be. She had thought that Zhang Yi Hai would stop being too close to his sister once he grew up and reached puberty. However, that boy continued to follow after his sister like a little tail.
.....
“You don’t have to worry about your brother,” Li Qin Yao said. “He went out a while ago.”
“Ah?” Zhang Li Xue could not hide her surprise.
If her brother was not at home, then, what was she doing sneaking around? She had even made some plans and let Fang Su Jin be involved in it just so her brother would not run into Mu Zhen Yu.
“Your brother went to your aunt’s place to meet with the triplets,” Li Qin Yao said. “They were probably going to play some games.”
Zhang Li Xue was more at ease upon hearing her mother’s words. “Then, Mommy, I should get going first. Otherwise, I’ll be late.”
Since her brother was not at home, she should go out fast. It would be troublesome if she run into her brother.
“Then go ahead. Don’t come back too late.”
“Un. I know.”
Zhang Li Xue grabbed her keys ad quickly made her escape. Other than her brother, Zhang Li Xue also hoped that she would not run into her father. The two men in her life were too overly worried.
After driving for around twenty minutes, Zhang Li Xue finally arrived at the restaurant. Just as she pulled over the car into the parking spot, her phone beeped with some message notification.
Seeing that it was Zhou Tong, asking about her whereabouts, Zhang Li Xue quickly replied with her location. Grabbing her purse, Zhang Li Xue walked into the restaurant.
The server walked over and ushered her to the private room.
Once she walked in, Zhang Li Xue saw that a lot of her classmates had shown up. However, the main star, Mu Zhen Yu was nowhere inside the room.
“Li Xue, you’re here,” Zhou Tong walked over and held her hand.
“I’m not too late, am I?”
Zhou Tong laughed. “Fortunately not. There were a few others who had not shown up yet. Come, let’s go over there and chat with the others. We haven’t seen each other for a while. There is a lot to catch up on.”
Zhang Li Xue followed after her friends and met with the others. Just then, their Class Monitor walked over and nodded at her as a form of greeting.
Because she had skipped a year when she started school, Zhang Li Xue had become the youngest among her classmates. Because of that, everyone in her class would treat her as their junior.
“Class monitor, hello,” Zhang Li Xue greeted.
“Li Xue, it’s good to see you here as well.” The Class Monitor heaved a sigh. “You... you need to participate in the group chat once in a while.”
Zhang Li Xue laughed. “Class Monitor, sorry. It wasn’t my intention to ignore you or the others. It was just that, these past few days, I have been busy with some matters.”
Fortunately, the Class Monitor did not mind this matter that much. “Fortunately, Zhou Tong told me that you are coming to this reunion as well. You don’t know how hard it was to invite Mu Zhen Yu to come over. He said, if you did not show up, then, he didn’t want to come.”
Zhang Li Xue was a little surprised by this information.
It turned out that Mu Zhen Yu was willing to attend this gathering because of her?
Zhang Li Xue stayed at the side as she listened to her classmates chatting happily.
Suddenly, the server pushed the door with Mu Zhen Yu and a few of his close friends in the class behind him.
The atmosphere in the room turned quiet.
“Mu Zhen Yu!” The Class Monitor spoke. He walked over to the door and gave Mu Zhen Yu a look over. “Hey, our star had finally arrived.”
Mu Zhen Yu flashed an apologetic smile. “I’m sorry. It has been a while since I was in Y City. I had trouble finding this place.” He turned to his friends and nodded. “Fortunately, these guys came to fetch me.”
The Class Monitor patted Mu Zhen Yu on the shoulder. “It just meant that you need to get out more and explore. It has been a long time since you came back. What do you think of Y City? There are a lot of changes, right?”
“Mmm...” Mu Zhen Yu nodded. “A lot of things have changed.” His gaze shifted to Zhang Li Xue who stood among the girls. Then, his lips curled into a faint smile and the look in his eyes turned gentler. Before he could speak, the Class Monitor had pulled him over to the table.
“Come. Let’s have a seat and order,” the Class Monitor spoke. “Let’s chat while we eat some food. Today’s meal will be covered by me.”
Everyone started to cheer upon hearing the Class Monitor’s words.
