Chapter 114 - Can We Know...
Chapter 114 - Can We Know...
Yvonne stared at the man who sat next to her father at the large dining table.
\'What did he just say?\' She growled in her heart upon hearing his words.
The moment she had heard the King\'s name being mentioned, she froze which caused the silverware in her little hand to drop onto the plate.
The loud clang had diverted their attention towards her and thus they saw her startled appearance.
\'Did he just say that he needs to report it to the King tomorrow… Which means that he had gone to meet King Ophire in recent times?\' She deduced and felt like she was struck by another wave of panic.
Glaring at the tutor and then at his clothes, Yvonne seemed to have figured out why he was dressed so well today.
"Did the Marquess meet King Ophire today?" She asked in hesitation that her guess might already be true.
The nod she received made her grimace at how good her deductive reasoning was.
\'Why can I never be wrong? I don\'t mind being wrong in such situations!\' She scowled at her sorry fate.
"Why does Miss Yvonne look so surprised when I already disclosed that information when you had inquired about my change in clothing for the day." Marquess Samed narrowed his eyes as he saw her frowning face.
He was sure that he had mentioned his rendezvous with the King of the Kingdom and that was also the main reason why he had popped by.
\'I wished to ascertain that she was fine and also to get more information about the plague.\' He defended his actions so as to not feel as though he was a selfish person.
Yvonne glared at the man when she heard his mocking words but soon the glare turned into a sheepish chuckle.
\'He was speaking to himself when I was concentrating on the map.\' She realized that this could have been when he had revealed his reason for the sudden arrival but she had missed it.
Even if she was annoyed at this revelation there was nothing that she could do at this moment since she was in the presence of her parents.
\'Whatever happened has happened and that is not important right now!\' She decided and then looked up at her tutor.
The Royal Tutor maintained eye contact with the child as she tried to form a proper sentence without sounding disrespectful.
The main issue now was to know what had entailed during the course of the rendezvous between Marquess Samed and King Ophire.
\'How should I ask him if he mentioned my name before the King by any ill chance!?\' She felt like pulling her hair out when this thought was all that was on her mind.
"Can we know what it was about?" Rutherford\'s inquiry eased the anxiety in her heart.
\'He has been helpful for quite a while now!\' Yvonne applauded her father for his curious mind which had saved her the trouble.
She wished that she stayed miles away from the people who had any connection with the Rosenhyde Royal family.
Unfortunately, that dream was already crushed when she heard the news of Marquess Sullivan Samed being Princess Felicia\'s tutor.
Now, her new dream was to never come in contact with anyone from the Royal family.
\'That would be tough if this blabbermouth has mentioned my name in his talks with the King.\' She exclaimed in trepidation.
She was under the impression that one of these days, Marquess Samed would meet some influential man and discuss the matter that she had revealed in regards to the plague that might arise in the future.
But she had never expected that the time would arrive so soon and the person that her tutor had discussed this matter with was none other than the King, the owner of the entire Kingdom.
Sullivan could make out her anxiety and her worries but he could not understand what the reason for this was.
However, he put his thoughts away and answered the Earl regarding the question that he was asked.
"Earl, your daughter has a brilliant mind and has discovered some flaws in the medical policies of King Greggor." He revealed and smiled with pride evident on his face.
If his student does well then that would imply that he had done a good job as her tutor. So he was happy when he revealed this to the child\'s parents.
However, the reactions of gladness that he had expected was not what he found.
In its place, he was met with a loud gasp and a sharp intake of air by the Countess and Earl of St. Claire respectively.
They gawked at the man and then turned their eyes filled with fear towards their precious daughter.
"Vonna did not do it on purpose, there is no need to punish her for that!" Rutherford was quick to come to her defense.
The parents knew that the present King loved his family the most and he did not tolerate people who would blaspheme against them.
Sullivan chuckled when he realized what the parents were worried about and he shook his head the very next second.
"His Majesty, King Ophire was elated when he heard that such a young mind was able to figure out what was wrong with the policy." He disclosed in order to ease their weary minds.
The three members of the St. Claire\'s family all stared at him with blank expressions as they were in a daze.
Rutherford and Raylene were surprised and astonished when they heard this explanation about the conversation that the King and Marquess had partaken in.
\'Vonna was praised by the King himself?\' The proud father could not seem to stop the smile that emerged on his face.
Raylene\'s eyes remained wide open for a long time as she tried to comprehend the situation that she had heard.
\'His Majesty knows about my Vonny\'s intelligence!\' The elated mother squealed in her mind when she was finally able to wrap her mind around what had just happened.
While the two adults were exchanging giddy glances at each other, their precious child was lamenting in her heart.
\'So this means that King Ophire Rosenhyde knows that I exist?\' She questioned herself even though she was already aware of what the answer was.
Her plan of never coming into contact with the Royal family was already crumbling as now the head of the said family knew about her existence.
\'I just had to try and do a good deed to save lives!?\' She scowled at her stupid plan which had backfired.
Unknown to her, her dream of not coming under the radar of the Royal family had been dead for a while now.
