Chapter 47 - Compensation Amount

Chapter 47 Compensation Amount

Yang Mei scooped up Qu Qi and pointed at her bleeding face. She stared at Shang Yan with a provocative tone, “Qu Xiao is Mr. Qu’s illegitimate daughter. Her temperament and upbringing are similar to that of a savage. She has a bad temper and likes to hit people randomly. Her words are also coarse.”

“You’d better see her true colors as soon as possible and divorce her.”

“Otherwise, one day when Qu Xiao causes trouble and embarrasses herself, I’m afraid that you and your family will be implicated and become a laughingstock!” All the men in the financial circle cherished their reputation, like Mr. Qu and those bosses who kept mistresses outside.

Yang Mei thought that she could use this to persuade Shang Yan to dislike Qu Xiao. She crossed her arms and was ready to watch her make a fool of herself.

Shang Yan frowned and asked in a low and hoarse voice, “How much do they want you to compensate them?”

Qu Xiao raised five fingers in a daze and shook them slightly in front of his eyes, trying to figure out his intention.

Shang Yan nodded slightly and stared at Yang Mei coldly. “If you have proof that Qu Qi’s injuries were caused by Xiaoxiao, I will compensate you…”

Qu Xiao hurriedly tugged at Shang Yan’s clothes when she heard this, trying to stop him from making his promise.

“But if Qu Qi’s injuries were caused by Xiaoxiao in self-defense, I will sue you for spreading rumors and slander!”

Qu Xiao was so touched that her eyes widened. She did not expect Shang Yan to support her so domineeringly.

“Next time you are bullied outside, don’t hold back. No matter how much compensation the other party asks for, I am happy to pay!”

“Most importantly, as long as you are happy!”

Shang Yan’s thin lips curved into an arc as he held Qu Xiao’s hand. The two of them left the villa under Yang Mei and Qu Qi’s jealous and twisted gazes.

Inside the van, the light in the car was dim.

Qu Xiao could hear the sound of her heart thumping. She recalled the way Shang Yan defended her. She opened her arms, wanting to pounce over and kiss Shang Yan to express her gratitude.

Li in the passenger seat was startled by her sudden action and hurriedly raised the partition.

Shang Yan was originally thinking about something else when he saw the woman beside him pounce over from the corner of his eye. He subconsciously raised his elbow to block her.

Qu Xiao and he were both stunned. The atmosphere in the car became awkward and stagnant for a moment. Shang Yan wanted to explain, but Qu Xiao’s eyes were dim as she leaned against the window. She used her finger to poke at the glass that was covered in frost to draw the picture of a pig’s head.

The side of her face bulged slightly. There was a kind of inexplicable cuteness that made Shang Yan feel pity for her.

Shang Yan gently extended his long arm and hugged Qu Xiao in his arms. He lowered his head and kissed her forehead as he said softly, “I’m not used to it yet. Can you give me some time? I’m not resisting or hating your initiative. I’m just not used to it yet. Qu Xiao was very easy to coax. The few sentences were enough to dispel the resentment in her heart.

Shang Yan stuffed a card-like thing into her hand.

Under the faint moonlight, Qu Xiao realized that it was actually a black card!

“This is my secondary card. There’s no password or limit. Use It if you want to buy anything.”

Qu Xiao returned to the villa in shock and touched emotions. Shang Yan mistakenly thought that she was frightened and urged her to take a warm bath.

In the bathroom, Qu Xiao nestled in the bathtub. When she recalled all the protection Shang Yan had given her, her eyes turned red. How long had it been since she had experienced such trust and love from another person! Qu Xiao secretly made a decision. She walked out of the shower with her bare feet wrapped in a bathrobe. Her wet hair fell on her shoulders.

Shang Yan raised his eyes to look at her. His heart tingled slightly as he withdrew his gaze. He stared at the book in his hand and did not turn the page for a long time.

Qu Xiao silently walked to the side of the bed. She threw the towel on the ground and nimbly crawled into the bed like a small fish.

Her warm little hands touched Shang Yan’s legs tentatively. Her fingertips moved around his legs. Qu Xiao’s eyes were filled with mist as she stole a glance at Shang Yan. She then boldly caressed his lower abdomen. When her palm was about to hold his hard object, Shang Yan suddenly grabbed her wrist and asked in a hoarse voice, “What are you trying to do?” How uninteresting!

Qu Xiao was secretly ridiculing him, but she pretended to be serious as she replied, “I want to give you a massage to relax the muscles in your legs. This will be beneficial to the recovery of your legs. What did you think I was doing?”

When Shang Yan heard her cunning answer, he stared at her in disbelief. Qu Xiao shifted her gaze to the side. She was a little shy from his stare and could not bring herself to voice out her thoughts. She happened to see the black card on the bedside table and casually said, “You’re very good to me. I don’t know how to repay you, and I don’t have anything that I can give you.” “So I thought of using this method to…”
