Chapter 337: Blinding White Lights
At that moment, Little Treasure slowly opened his eyes.
The attacks, swift enough to rip through the air, caused Little Treasure to turn his head in confusion.
With just one glance, he snapped to full alertness.
"Xun!!!"
Help!!!
Startled, Little Treasure\'s energy instinctively gathered and erupted in a flash, causing him to vanish on the spot.
No one noticed that, during the brief moment of stillness, the air faintly trembled.
When Little Treasure recovered from his fright, he found himself in a completely different place."Xun xun?!"
Hovering mid-air and surrounded by gravestones, Little Treasure placed his paws on his cheeks, his expression twisting in fear.
How could a beast of stature like him end up like this?!
---
Meanwhile, Qiao Sang stood dumbfounded, staring at the spot where Little Treasure had vanished. The sudden disappearance disrupted the connection in her Beastmaster Codex, meaning Little Treasure was now beyond her sensing range.
If she had looked at the Codex at that moment, she would have noticed a new skill listed under Little Treasure: Spatial Shift.
Unfortunately, the chaos left her no time to spare for the Codex.
In the blink of an eye, Illusion Slash and the Doom Shadows were nearly upon Lubao.
"Lu-"
Lubao turned her head, her deep blue eyes reflecting blurred shadows of blue, purple...and red.
Red?!
Lubao froze, her gaze fixated on a fiery figure engulfed in flames. Before she could angrily protest that she didn\'t need saving--
BAM!!!
With a loud crash, the red figure was sent flying, carving a long trail across the ground.
"Lu..."
Lubao was stunned yet again.
"Lubao! Go save Yabao!" Qiao Sang shouted.
"Lu!"
Lubao didn’t hesitate, bolting toward Yabao.
"Illusion Slash." Zhang Rongtang commanded calmly, preparing for the finishing blow.
He showed no interest in why Little Treasure had disappeared so suddenly.
This girl might be talented, contracting three beasts at such a young age, but that was only impressive for a high schooler. Compared to a seasoned beastmaster like him, it wasn’t worth mentioning.
Today, he’d teach her a lesson: Humbling her arrogance so she wouldn’t let her talent blind her to the vast world ahead.
"Tablema."
With a glint of blue in its eyes, Tablema instantly condensed a meter-long blue scythe.
"Wait!"
At this moment, Qiao Sang stepped forward, holding a transparent device containing Luckbringer.
"Stop! I’ll give it to you!"
Where are the police?! And where on earth is Little Treasure?! Qiao Sang’s inner turmoil was far from her composed exterior.
The current situation was spiraling far beyond her expectations.
If Little Treasure were still around, the plan would’ve been simple: As long as Lubao remained unscathed, either Little Treasure or Yabao could take turns falling, with Lubao healing them in intervals.
This strategy could have held out until the police arrived.
But now, with Little Treasure gone, everything was in disarray.
She could only rely on herself to buy time. Holding the device with Luckbringer, she feigned urgency.
"Yun Yun?!"
Inside the device, Luckbringer was utterly baffled.
You’re giving up on me just like that?!
Just as Zhang Rongtang was about to demand the device, Qiao Sang withdrew it, muttering audibly, "Never mind, might as well go all the way and be a good person."
"Yun Yun!"
Lukbringer nodded frantically in agreement.
Zhang Rongtang let out a sharp laugh, his expression darkening.
Mocking me? Excellent.
"Old Hu! Old Byo!" Zhang Rongtang growled.
"Hu." Phantom Fiend replied, its glowing eyes signaling the Illusion Slash to shoot forward, aimed at Lubao and Yabao.
"Tab..." The Tablema drifted closer.
This time, Qiao Sang had learned her lesson, turning her head away.
She’d noticed Tablema always advanced slightly before using its hypnotic abilities, though not when deploying other skills.
Lubao’s situation didn’t worry her much, she guessed Yabao should have recovered by now.
Her guess was correct, though she underestimated Zhang Rongtang’s persistence.
“Control yourself.” Zhang Rongtang ordered coldly.
Hearing its master’s command, Phantom Fiend’s violet eyes reverted, forming a smaller-than-usual shadow orb that shot toward Qiao Sang.
BAM!!!
A loud impact echoed.
Qiao Sang turned her head, only to see Yabao and Lubao standing before her.
Yabao had indeed recovered.
Before she could relax, her eyes widened in horror. Behind Yabao and Lubao, unseen to them, the Illusion Slash was hurtling toward them.
“Teleport!” Qiao Sang shouted desperately, her pupils contracting.
“Yap!”
Yabao’s ears twitched as he instinctively grabbed Lubao, flinging her onto his back before vanishing, reappearing five meters above the ground.
The blue scythe adjusted mid-air, chasing them relentlessly.
Yabao could only teleport again.
Each time Yabao reappeared, the Illusion Slash was right behind him, the time gap between them less than a second.
Should they attack the caster directly? Qiao Sang glanced at Tablema, its glowing blue eyes brimming with control.
The scythe’s precision left no room for evasion, and Lubao, being a non-psychic beast, wouldn’t endure much more teleporting.
Leaving Lubao behind wasn’t an option either; if the Illusion Slash kept chasing Yabao, Tablema or Stronghold Sky Owl could easily target Lubao, sealing their fate.
The only way forward was to sever the Illusion Slash.
As Qiao Sang pondered, Zhang Rongtang’s patience wore thin.
This high schooler had already cost him too much time.
“Change targets.” He ordered, his tone icy.
Simultaneously, Qiao Sang called out, “Gentle Snow!”
Though weak, the wide range of Gentle Snow might disrupt Phantom Fiend’s focus if Yabao could teleport close enough.
When Yabao reappeared, he happened to be four meters above Phantom Fiend’s left.
Lubao seized the moment, puffing her cheeks and releasing a flurry of crystalline snowflakes.
At that exact moment, Phantom Fiend’s gaze shifted to Qiao Sang.
The Illusion Slash paused briefly in mid-air before abruptly turning toward her.
“Yap!”
Yabao, watching the scythe closely, growled furiously and teleported in front of his master.
BAM!!!
The Illusion Slash struck Yabao directly.
This time, however, Yabao didn’t falter, his lips curling into a fierce snarl as energy surged within him.
At that moment, the air trembled faintly.
In the next instant, moonlight spilled over Yabao, enveloping him in radiant white light.
Blinding White Light.
