Chapter 651

Chapter 651

The important matter was that the only thing Davey could do on Earth was simply observe without interference, thereby not affecting reality. Right now, other than gathering some simple information about Neltarid, he also had a promise to Maga to keep Go Jin-Seok away from her, and that was all.

Upon Davey’s command, Kain\'s eyes gleamed blue as he fluttered his wings. At the same time, a chilly wind began to spread throughout the interior of the building.

Whoooosh!

"Ugh?!"

"What the heck is this!"

The unexpected cold wind caught everyone off guard, causing them to move in disarray. But there was no change in Go Jin-Seok\'s appearance or expression, and it had been the same when Davey first met him. There was actually no need to debate his character.

Whooosh!

Kain, becoming translucent, moved fluidly. Then, before everyone\'s eyes, Kain revealed himself.

"Huh?!"

"What is that!"

What they saw was not Kain. Or rather, it was Kain, but he was not in his usual form. Dressed in a black suit and black sunglasses, Kain had transformed into a young man with black, short hair.

He casually stepped forward before anyone could react, and quickly approached one of the men.

"Huh?! The fuck!! What the hell is this dude?! Ugh!"

Kain swiftly ran up, twisted the man\'s arm, and subdued him. Then, lifting his head slightly, he began to deal with each one easily and swiftly.

"Die!!!"

Clang!!!

Dodging a giant steel pipe flexibly, Kain kicked the man\'s shin.

Thud!! Thud!!

The man who took the hit on his shin bone winced, and in that moment, a punch flew like a flash of lightning, hitting his chest and face and knocking him out cold.

"What?! What are you doing?! What is this guy?!"

Kain\'s interruption turned the place into chaos, and the most flustered one was Go Jin-Seok.

The place was a deserted factory unknown to anyone, and it was an unlikely location for any person to find themselves at.

Kain, whose face remained expressionless, turned his head to look at Go Jin-Seok, who then recoiled like he was struck by lightning.

"Stop! Stop that!! Block him!"

The muscled men simultaneously grabbed their tools and charged at Kain. To these guys, the life and death of Han Yu-Na or Ji-Ah were beyond their concern.

"Die!!"

Whoom!! Whack!!

A fist smacked a man\'s face, and then a kick immediately knocked him unconscious. It was a fighting skill that seemed almost supernatural.

"You guys seem like simple humans."

Kain was marvelous despite having the likeness of humans. He quickly subdued the men, shaking off the blood on his hands right after. It was an astonishingly one-sided assault.

"Huh...."

He caught his breath for a brief moment before finally turning his gaze toward Jin-Seok, who had fallen to the ground.

"You... What are you... What are you?!" Jin-Seok screamed at Kain.

Yu-Na and Ji-Ah, who were still tied to the chairs, looked at Kain and Jin-Seok with shock. Despite being terrified, the horror unfolding before their eyes was not something they could just ignore.

"Stop. Leave that alone for now," commanded Davey as he entered the scene.

“Why?” Kain casually asked in response, uncaring of the fact that he was the only one who could see Davey and Perserque.

"Set your priorities first. That\'s more urgent." Davey pointed at Yu-Na and Ji-Ah with a nod of his head.

In response, Kain also nodded his head and approached the ladies. Then, as if to comfort them, he whispered kindly, "It\'s okay now. I\'ve come to save you."

"Sob... sob..."

"..."

The two terrified women could not relax, and the only answer they could give was a mere nodding of their heads.

Yu-Na might not have known, but Ji-Ah had experienced even worse horrors before. Because of this, she recovered quite quickly. But that did not necessarily mean her mental state was stable.

Kain proceeded to untie the ropes that had bound the two ladies and wrapped them in blankets he had gotten somewhere unknown. Once done, he then turned around.

"Hey... Hey there!"

Kain faced the ladies once more and asked, "What is the matter?"

"What are you going to do with that person?"

Kain became silent, seemingly unsure of what to say. He then looked at Davey, as if seeking an answer.

The reason Kain had even stepped in here was solely because of a single order from Davey. But until this day, it remained unclear why Kain\'s second personality was so friendly and cooperative toward Davey.

"We have to get rid of any potential issues," said Davey.

"If that\'s what you wish."

As Kain nodded once more in the direction Davey was in, the three people there, who were regaining their wits and composure, looked at Kain with puzzled expressions. What followed next was far from light. With a swift motion, Kain knocked out Yu-Na and Ji-Ah by hitting the backs of their necks. Then, he slowly started walking toward Go Jin-Seok, who was sitting on the ground.

"Killing him ends my assistance,” Kain said to Davey. “But you should know that the longer you stay here, the harder it will be for you all."

As Kain slowly approached, Go Jin-Seok pleaded, "Don\'t... Don\'t come near me! How much... How much are you getting paid to do this crap?!"

"How much, you say? Would you be able to pay that amount?"

"I\'ll pay! Twice, no, four times as much!"

"Oh..."

"Then bring that bastard! The one who ordered you to kill me, bring him in front of me!"

Seeing him shout without fully grasping the situation, Davey quietly motioned to strike him on the back of his head. But since Davey had no physical form, his hand naturally passed through Go Jin-Seok, causing only a slight chill.

"I\'m sorry, but that\'s impossible."

Kain then grabbed Go Jin-Seok\'s neck and lifted him up. Kain\'s original form might be that of a teenager, but at the moment, he was a tall man with a strong build.

"Ugh... gasp..."

"It\'s the will of the gods. To fulfill that command, I will take your life."

Crack... Crack!

A gruesome sound echoed within the walls of the warehouse, while Go Jin-Seok flailed in pain.

No one had died yet, but if Go Jin-Seok were to die here, it might affect everyone present, including the unconscious ones. And so, Davey instructed one more thing to Kain.

Crack!! Snap!

Go Jin-Seok\'s neck broke, and he slumped down lifeless.

Silently, Kain laid down the corpse, but then he hunched over slightly and coughed.

"Gasp... Cough!"

Perserque, witnessing Kain suddenly coughing up blood, flinched.

"The backlash is not trivial."

"Backlash?"

"Let\'s take these two unconscious ladies and discuss it once we\'ve left the factory district."

Kain, having gathered his bearings after his coughing fit, swiftly carried the unconscious women away, leaving the factory area where a human had died and several others were beaten to a pulp. In another world, this might not have been an issue, but on Earth, this was a significant matter.

After leaving the factory district, Kain, whose face was pallid, traveled for a while. It was only when they reached a secluded spot that Davey, who was floating beside Kain, stopped him. There, Kain gently laid the ladies down.

"Explain."

"It\'s about divine protection."

"Divine protection?" Surprised, Davey looked at him quite skeptically.

"Are you saying he had divine protection? Am I misunderstanding the meaning of divine protection?"

"No, you understood it correctly. But it\'s not just on him. It’s on this entire land. Here on Earth, humans cannot use special powers, be it sorcery or magic."

Sorcery was born on Earth, but for some reason, it had fallen into a separate dimension. This place was an independent space where power could exist but was completely isolated by a transcendent will. So the power used here could not exceed human limits.

"Earth has been under the domain of Lord Neltarid for a long time... Because Lord Neltarid has been present on this land since long ago."

Listening to Kain’s explanation, Davey felt that there was something off about it.

‘Long ago?’

Davey\'s sorcery did not come from divine beings; rather, it was crafted from mankind\'s desire for protection against monsters in the absence of divine help.

"Monsters existed in the past. But now, according to the gods, they no longer exist on this land."

Essentially, sorcery and monsters had been completely removed, making Earth an independent space—a space meant solely for human powers. In some ways, it could seem perfectly fair, but in another sense, it was nothing more than a totalitarian space.

Davey started to draw out power while in a spiritual state.

Kain, noticing this, then shouted in panic, "What... What are you doing?!"

Naturally, using power directly would lead to backlash. But if the Power of Taboo was mixed in, what would happen?

Davey was trying to provoke Neltarid.

"Stop! Davey, if you continue like this, you won\'t find what you seek!" Perserque said with urgency.

"Do you think I have any lingering attachments to Earth? Out of a nearly thousand-year life, Earth\'s part is merely twenty years."

To him, two decades were nothing but a mere speck of time.

In response to his words, Perserque shook her head vigorously, but she was still unable to dissuade Davey from his actions, which seemed to be already on the verge of reaching a limit.

But then... Davey instinctively disengaged the Power of Taboo, seemingly like he had no choice but to do it.

"Davey... You..."

Perserque, who was looking at him with shock written all over her face, got no response from Davey.

A suffocating silence enveloped the surroundings.
