Chapter 116: Freedom can be sweet at times!
Without any of his money or clothes, Ark was at a loss. Without clothes, there was no way he could enter a city, and without entering a city, there was no way he could make any money to buy what he needed, namely a spatial bag, some clothes as well as a food supply, just in case.
Since that was the case, Ark decided that he would need to live in the wilderness for some time, until he for some reason happened upon clothes, or if he managed to make some on his own. All he really needed was just some rags anyways, which he could probably manage to make on his own with some beast skin and fur.
Well-rested and with food in is stomach, Ark decided to keep on running for a couple more hours, he had gained plenty of energy just now, and it was about time he started moving again. After continuous running for another 4 hours, Ark had to take another breather, and calm down a little. Like this, the day quickly passed, and Ark found a random spot underneath a tree to sleep for the night.
Though just sleeping on grass would be uncomfortable for most people, Ark currently loved the feeling, after sleeping on hard stone slabs for weeks he wasn\'t exactly picky.
Dawn of the next day, Ark was already on the run again. He waited with his breakfast a little since he wanted to eat when he felt a little hungrier, that way it would be more enjoyable. Occasionally he ran past carriages and people who traversed the road, but no problems arose.
Several people had gotten ready to fight to their death, but he just ignored them and ran straight past them, he couldn\'t be bothered.
After 2 entire days passed by like this, Ark started to relax a little. He was sure that no one was behind him or following him right now, and he decided to relax a little. Even though it can be important to be on your guard sometimes, it can also be harmful in its own way, especially mentally.
Ark was feeling like shit these past two days, it wasn\'t bad compared to the hell in the cell, but instead of physical pain and torture, he had to live with the worry of having to return to that place, which wasn\'t very pleasant.
He had been wondering a little as he ran, was Thufrat and Alenia worried about him? What were they doing right now? Would they try to get help for him? He didn\'t know, but the thought worried him a little, he didn\'t want them to do something rash on his behalf now that he was already free. Phones were something he truly didn\'t appreciate enough in his previous life.
What Ark didn\'t know, however, was that a story of a giant wolf fleeing from the capital was a hot topic in numerous places. And Thufrat and Alenia had already heard about it.
As night was about to fall once again, Ark entered a mystical forest. This one was very different from the Twilight Forest which he had stayed in for quite some time before. Instead of having an abundance of darkness mana, this forest was especially rich in the mana of the four elements.
This made the forest very diverse in its habitats, as some places had plenty of lush greenery, while some other places seemed like they were the homes of a fire monster or something of that nature.
Though night was quickly falling, Ark hadn\'t eaten his fill yet, and he decided to hunt some more before going to sleep, maybe this would even be a good spot to settle down for a while. Just to rest, and get back on his feet. There was a city just an hour away too, which made it optimal for him to try and get himself a spatial bag and clothes.
Even though he didn\'t feel like interacting with humans just yet, he still needed to prepare in case he actually needed to, he wanted to get his reward later too. Two platinum coins was a decent amount of money.
After eating his fill, Ark looked around for a comfortable spot to sleep in for some time. After half an hour, Ark happened upon a fairly sizeable cave that had been covered up by a plethora of vines and plants, which made it optimal for Ark who wanted some privacy and time for himself, away form everything.
He didn\'t want to just sleep on the hard ground, so he tried his best to gather plenty of plants and leaves to sleep on. Ark\'s fur was more than enough to stand the cold, but he wanted to feel a little warm and cosy, therefore he constructed a simple fire, before falling asleep.
SCREEEEECH!!!!!
In the middle of the dark and otherwise silent night, a large screech suddenly woke Ark up from his deep slumber. With a blank expression on his face, Ark decided to leave his cave for a while to look around, there was no way he could just go to sleep after hearing something like that.
He didn\'t intend to actually investigate what happened, since by the sound of things, he guessed that some poor monster was butchered, and it was none of Ark\'s business, who knew what he would get himself into if he just had to investigate everything that happened. He had already experienced enough hardship for a year or two, he didn\'t want to experience any more right now.
Realistically, he would probably just end up in a dangerous fight with some other monster. Though that was the case, Ark still wanted to calm down a little before going back to sleep and decided to stroll around the place a little.
Though his stature was big, his paws hitting the ground didn\'t even make the slightest sound if he didn\'t want them to, and the eerie silence of the forest was oddly calming. When he was just about to return, Ark happened upon a small clearing in the forest.
All that filled Ark\'s sight were ethereal glowing blue flowers, swaying gently in the wind. Even though Ark had seen plenty of things, this sight had to have been one of the most beautiful so far!
