Chapter 310: 310: Baron Lawrence Wants to Bring Her Back to Linton City
had been electrocuted.
But Baron Lawrence wasn’t about to give her the chance to escape. He reached out with his large hand to catch her waist, pulled her close to himself, and captured her fleeing soft lips with his thin ones, deepening the kiss.
He kissed gently for the first time, the tenderness almost drowning her.
After a long while, he reluctantly let go of Enna Clark, still gasping for breath. But his arms were still around her neck, his forehead resting on hers as he said, “Enna, come back to Linton City with me.”
Enna subconsciously asked, “What’s there to do in Linton City?”
That was the last place she wanted to go now because it was where the person she least wanted to see was.
“What are you afraid of with me around?” Baron Lawrence didn’t say what they’d do in Linton City but held her gaze with his powerful hawk-like eyes.
Enna pursed her lips and looked at him, “When do we leave?”
“We’ll be leaving shortly. I’ve already asked Scott Harris to make arrangements.” Baron Lawrence lifted his head, still holding her waist, “As for the woman next door, the police will be here soon.”
When he said that, Enna knew that he’d heard her conversation with Jasmine Clark. She should’ve been angry about being constantly monitored, but strangely, she wasn’t as mad at him as she should be, perhaps because of what he said just now. She only glared at him and demanded, “I want Bobby to come with me.”
Baron Lawrence frowned, clearly not pleased, “What’s the purpose of bringing him? I’ll make sure he’s taken care of.’
“No, Bobby must come with me, or I won’t go.”
She had promised Bobby she would never leave him behind again. Adults must keep their promises, otherwise, it’s detrimental to a child’s growth.
Moreover, Bobby had relied on her since he was young. Other than the time when she returned to Linton City earlier, they had never been apart. She was not used to being away from him either.
With her firm stance, even the reluctant Baron Lawrence gave in, “I’ll have
Scott pick him up.”
“Good.” Enna knew he would agree and smiled.
Even though their journey now included a third wheel, making Baron Lawrence less happy, her smile made all his displeasures vanish.
He decided not to argue with her today.
After all, she was the one who was upset.
Baron Lawrence’s furrowed eyebrows smoothed out as he told her, “Before we leave, I have a meeting to attend. You…”
“I’ll go work downstairs.” Enna volunteered.
Baron Lawrence’s face darkened. He grabbed her wrist, “Who said you could go? During the meeting, I’ll ask my secretary to arrange a seat for you. Just sit next to me and wait.”
” This arrangement reminded her of the small stool he had arranged for her in Country W.
Enna wanted to refuse, but the domineering man did not give her a chance. He treated telling her as if he had consulted with her, and within a blink of an eye, he had already called his secretary to make the arrangements.
The meeting lasted two and a half hours, and Enna listened to the boring content next to him the whole time.
Finally, the meeting ended.
Then Scott called, “Lord, I’m waiting downstairs with Young Master.”
“Okay.”
Baron Lawrence unbuttoned his shirt collar, grabbed his laptop, and assertively held Enna’s hand with his handsome and noble face, “Let’s go..”
