Chapter 212: Spatial Sword Will, Chen Chu Gets Surrounded (II)

Chapter 212: Spatial Sword Will, Chen Chu Gets Surrounded (II)

Boom!

The indescribable power on the halberd exploded, and amid the dazzling black and red shockwave, the beast\'s body trembled as the ground beneath its feet cracked.

The massive horn, reinforced with hard rock extending up to five meters on its head, exploded with a resounding boom.

However, the beast’s defense was formidable. It hadn\'t been killed by Chen Chu\'s usual halberd strike; instead, only the rock armor on half of its body had been shattered.

The sharp black and red halberd light had also dispersed on its head, leaving behind deep bloody wounds visible to the bone that made it seem even more frenzied and savage.

Roar! Roar! Roar!

Amid its frantic roar, its large mouth, filled with sharp teeth, lunged fiercely at Chen Chu...

Bang!

As the halberd swept horizontally, the explosion of the black and red Dragon Elephant True Power caused half of the beast\'s head to shatter, and a tremendous amount of flesh and blood splattered as its massive body collapsed with a thunderous crash.

Chen Chu’s expression was indifferent while he stood beside the huge corpse with halberd in hand, as the black and red light radiating from his body exuded a heavy pressure.

Since one strike didn\'t kill it, strike it again.

After slaughtering these mutated beasts, Chen Chu got to work. First, he dragged the nearly ten-ton level 4 beast to the Long-haired Rampage Ape’s carcass and forcefully threw it on top with explosive strength.

Next was a slightly better-preserved level 3 carcass, which he laid across the Rampage Ape\'s legs. By now, he was nearing the limit of the eight anti-gravity disks’ carrying capacity, so he used his halberd to cut off the rest of the beasts’ horns, including the one he had blown apart at the waist.

These horns were both their weapons and a type of material. After long-term energy tempering, they were as hard as alloy and had a certain degree of energy conductivity, making them highly compatible with earth-based arts.

A level 2 horn brought back on its own was worth about 2 contribution points, while a level 3 one was worth 4. While it seemed insignificant, when added up, these horns amounted to around 20 or 30 points, which would be foolish to ignore.

Now laden with supplies, and with no more room for anything else, other beasts were only going to get in the way, so Chen Chu sprinkled the large bottle of Grayrock Tree Powder on the carcasses to mask the scent. He then set off once again, bursting forth with explosive strength like an ant as he dragged the mutated beasts with volumes exceeding his by a hundredfold toward the outskirts of the mountains.

In no time, a day passed, and Chen Chu traversed nearly nine hundred kilometers of the 1,300 kilometer journey out of the deep Yunwu Range. His speed was already quite fast, and if he ran a bit faster tomorrow, he should be able to reach the school base before nightfall.

If this was being dragged by a squad of Fifth Heavenly Realm cultivators, it would take them almost a week to go back and forth over three thousand kilometers. This was Chen Chu, however; three days were enough for him.

It was fortunate that he had found the three Ethereal Crystals. After all this time and effort, a harvest of only a peak level 5 mutated beast would have been mediocre. After all, with his strength, he could easily kill two or three level 5 mutated beasts along the edge of the Yunwu Range within two or three days, with no need to venture so deeply.

It was no wonder that the senior students stuck to the outskirts to kill mutated beasts; the only reason to venture deep into the mountains was to search for resource points.

Lost in thought, Chen Chu found a cliff against the mountain wall as a resting place for the night. He hadn’t managed to find a cave, and because the carcasses were too large to fit in a tree hole, he had to take the risk of spending the night outside.

As he approached the cliff, however, rolling clouds gradually covered the sky, and Chen Chu’s gaze darkened.

Whoosh!

Before he could find a new place, the heavy rain poured down, covering sky and earth and engulfing everything with raindrops the size of beans in the blink of an eye.

Swoosh!

Chen Chu\'s true power circulated, keeping the rainwater off of his body. He flashed and dashed under a slight concavity in the cliff about two meters deep, a place barely sufficient to shelter from the rain.

As he watched the torrential rain that almost seemed to submerge the world, Chen Chu let out a slight sigh. In all of his ventures into the mountains, he had never encountered rain before. The overwhelming force of the storm, covering hundreds or even thousands of kilometers, made one feel insignificantly small.

However... Chen Chu\'s gaze shifted to the nearby mutated beast carcasses, his expression slightly grave.

The downpour had completely washed away the tree powder and dried scabs on the carcass’ wounds, and fresh, energy-containing blood was now beginning to flow again. It coalesced in the rainwater and slowly flowed down the slope into the forest streams.

Seeing that and the now completely dark sky, Chen Chu\'s expression grew even more serious. "Trouble indeed. Fortunately, we\'re already close to the outskirts. Otherwise, I\'d have to abandon these carcasses."

Night fell completely, and the heavy rain stopped after nearly two hours. The forest emitted a fresh scent filled with the fragrance of grass, wood, and soil.

At the same time, countless nocturnal mutated creatures emerged from their hiding places, stepping into the damp forest to forage.

Chen Chu sat cross-legged under the cliff, his halberd lying beside him.

Not far away were the carcasses of the two Single-horned Beasts and the Long-haired Rampage Ape; after getting washed by the rain, they didn’t even look like they had been dead for almost an entire day. At this point, they had stopped bleeding, but with the night breeze blowing, a faint smell of blood still wafted far away.

Soon, the branches in the distance swayed, rainwater dripped from the trees, and a pair of greedy and fierce eyes swept over the three beast carcasses before landing on Chen Chu.

It was quickly followed by a second pair, and then a third...

Almost all of the mutated creatures in this forest had been drawn over by the blood. Most of them were level 1 or level 2, but there were quite a few at level 3, and even some at level 4 hidden in the back.

There were also the sharp cries of birds in the sky, their massive wings stirring up waves of energy and casting large shadows under the faint moonlight.

These mutated creatures, who would usually fight each other on sight, had completely forgotten about one another, their eyes fixed only on the flesh of the peak level 5 beast. As more and more of them gathered, one couldn\'t resist anymore.

Roar!

A low roar shook the mountain forest, and a tree was knocked over. Out emerged a mutated beast resembling a tiger, over sixteen meters long and five meters tall. As it slowly approached, the level 4 beast\'s greedy gaze fixated on the Rampage Ape\'s corpse, drooling from its monstrous jaws.

"It seems there will be no rest tonight." With a faint voice, Chen Chu emerged from under the cliff, his metal boots clanking heavily on the rocks.

The three mutated beast corpses totaled about 200 contribution points. Naturally, he wasn’t going to let these mutated creatures take them.

The creatures, however, were just as eager to devour the high-level beasts’ flesh. Consuming and absorbing the life components could greatly facilitate their evolution and growth.

Neither side was going to back down.

Roar!

The Thunder Striped Beast let out a ferocious roar, and its massive body was surrounded by a cyan-colored hurricane as it crashed toward Chen Chu at terrifying speed.

Boom!

Accompanied by a dazzling black and red light, the Thunder Striped Beast’s head exploded mid-flight, blood and flesh splattering everywhere as its body crashed to the ground. Hot blood gushed out like a fountain from the Thunder Striped Beast\'s neck, instantly intensifying the scent of blood in the air.

The eyes of more than ten level 2 mutated creatures at the edge of the forest turned red, and they rushed out from the woods with fierce roars.

These mutated creatures were very fast. Within a blink of an eye, they charged toward Chen Chu from all directions, swarming him.

Boom!

A four-meter-high black and red circe of true power erupted from Chen Chu, crushing the bodies of the creatures that came into contact with it. Flesh flew everywhere, and the entire night sky was obscured by a layer of bloody hue.

Roar!

Under the intense blood scent, countless mutated creatures surged out from the forest, causing the earth to tremble as they tried to overwhelm Chen Chu with their sheer numbers.

Boom!

A black and red light exploded among the numerous beasts. The halberd emitted fierce and sharp light, unstoppable when swung at supersonic speed. Wherever it passed, mutated creatures exploded.

Regardless of whether they were level 2 beasts weighing one to two tons, or level 3 beasts seven or eight meters in length, or even level 4 creatures over ten meters long, they were all injured or blown apart upon contact with the terrifying and domineering Eight Desolations Purgatory Halberd. Their attacks couldn\'t even touch Chen Chu, with how formidable his speed and reaction was.

Even strange ability attacks were anticipated by the Insightful Eye in advance, allowing him to avoid them. This was the greatest use of the Insightful Eye Realm on the battlefield—fearlessness against siege attacks.

Bang! Bang!

Under the black and red light, one mutated beast after another flew, exploded, and spilled out blood, dyeing almost all the surrounding creatures and Chen Chu crimson.

In less than ten minutes, hundreds of low-level creatures had been slaughtered, and the abundant blood flowed down the slope, converging into streams. The intense scent rose into the sky, attracting even more mutated creatures from afar.

Boom!

A level 3 mutated bird pounced from above, but was blasted mid-air by a swing of the halberd. Chen Chu, surrounded by a large red light, leaped high into the air, his halberd sweeping across the sky.

Kill!

As he fell back down with a long roar, Chen Chu\'s aura surged like a god or demon descending from the heavens.

Boom!

With one strike, the earth shattered, and the black and red halberd light exploded, shredding all mutated creatures within a twenty-meter radius to form a giant weeping ghost face.
