Chapter 505 - Final Destination

Chapter 505: Final Destination

Margaret inspected Chen Zhao curiously. “Which hospital are you working in?”

“I’m a medical professor in UCLA.”

Chen Zhao had to admit that it was really a great identity.

In the past, when someone asked about his job, he had to be ambiguous or admit that he was an illegal doctor after consideration.

Suddenly, Blackie spoke.

“I think there’s something I forgot to tell you.”

Chen Zhao glanced at him and replied with his brainwaves. “Stop disturbing me. She’s a psychologist. I don’t want her to know that I’m mentally ill... No, I don’t want her to think that I’m mentally ill.”

“It’s important.”

“You seem to be bothered.” Margaret noticed Chen Zhao’s abnormal glance.

“Ha... I’m fine.”

Smiling, Margaret stared at Chen Zhao. “I had a patient with a delusional disorder. He always feels as if his wife is still alive, still beside him and talking to him, but he knows that it’s impossible. Rationality and hallucinations keep troubling him. Most of the time, he would deliberately ignore the hallucinations so that he can look normal before other people.”

Very clearly, Margaret was certain that Chen Zhao was experiencing similar symptoms as her former patient.

She was sure that Chen Zhao also had a delusional disorder. Chen Zhao rubbed his forehead.

“Fine.” Chen Zhao shrugged helplessly.

“Now are you free to listen to me?” Blackie asked.

“Nope. Because of you, she thinks that I have a delusional disorder.”

“You sure?”

“Just leave me alone for a while.”

“Fine.” Blackie floated away.

Chen Zhao saw Blackie enter the cabin.

Soon, a flight attendant screamed and bolted out from the restroom.

The chief purser walked over and helped the fallen attendant up. “What happened?”

“I... I...”

“Calm down and tell me what happened.”

“I... I... I saw the Grim Reaper!”

“Have you not had enough sleep? It’s a hallucination.” The chief purser clearly did not believe the attendant.

“Milan, I’m serious... Will the plane be alright? I heard that... the Grim Reaper will appear before a plane accident!”

...

With a dark look, Chen Zhao stared at Blackie who was floating out from the restroom.

“What have you done?”

“I appeared before her, or rather in the mirror.”

“Why would you do that?”

“I just wanted to inform her that the plane will crash.”

Chen Zhao would have sprung up from his seat if he did not have the seat belt on.

“What?! Why didn’t you tell me earlier?”

“You didn’t want to listen. I could only talk to another person.”

“When will it happen?”

“An hour later.”

“What exactly will happen?”

“I don’t know. I only see a damaged cabin and a few people flying out.”

Chen Zhao looked at Yura and Cheryl. What should he do?

He could not stop the plane from malfunctioning.

Obviously, he could not just run into the cockpit, tell the pilots that the plane would crash, and ask them to land at the nearby airport.

However, if he were to do nothing, the plane would probably crash. None of them would survive.

Should he hijack the plane?

Stop joking. After 9/11, whenever there was a hijacking, the American government would send fighter planes to destroy the plane before it could reach any city.

There was no way Chen Zhao could successfully hijack the plane. It would only kill him quicker.

How? How?

“Blackie, why don’t you talk to the pilots?”

Chen Zhao was also helpless. It was the last resort.

Chen Zhao clearly could not convince the crew. Asking Blackie to appear before them was the best option.

“Fine... I’ll have a nice chat with them.”

Then, Blackie floated into the cockpit. Chen Zhao waited for a while but did not see Blackie return.

...

“Jarls, after we reach New York, where do you want to go?”

“Champagne Avenue, of course. What? You want to go too?”

“I’m wearing a wedding ring. No woman would date a married man.”

“You can temporarily take your ring off. Look, I’ve taken mine off.”

“Riley, do you know that in my hometown in Kansas, there’s such a rumor. Taking the wedding ring off within marriage is betrayal, and offenders will be punished by God.”

“Please, I’m an atheist. You can ask Eddie if he believes it.”

“Please don’t ask a singleton such a philosophical question,” Eddie said, smiling.

In the cockpit, Jarls was the captain, while Riley and Eddie were co-pilots.

All three were known for being playboys. As pilots, they had a great advantage in hooking up women.

Piloting was an out-and-out high income and honorable job.

When the three gathered together, they mostly talked about women and alcohol.

Suddenly, a shadow flashed across the mirror above the seats.

Riley, who was sitting in the second row, saw that shadow.

He rubbed his eyes. Jarls glanced at him. “What? You got sore eyes?”

“No, nothing. Maybe it’s just the light.”

Because they were in the troposphere, they would receive much more sunlight than people on the surface.

Sometimes, pilots might develop eye diseases due to direct exposure to strong sunlight.

“I’m Death.”

Jarls almost jumped off his seat. Luckily, the plane was on autopilot, or his action would have crashed the plane at once.

“Jarls, what are you doing? You know the rules. You can’t just move around like that.”

“I... I had an auditory hallucination.”

“No, it’s not a hallucination.” Jarls heard the voice beside his ears again. “I’m Death.”

“Jarls, what are you doing?”

“He was scared by my voice.”

“Ah!” Riley screamed as well.

“Riley, what’s wrong?”

“I... I heard a voice.”

“You heard it too?”

“You too?”

“The voice said that he’s Death.”

“Death... I... I saw the Grim Reaper just now... Do you believe me?” Eddie swallowed some saliva. “He appeared in the rear-view mirror.”

The three looked very unnatural, even terrified.

Just then, a figure appeared in the mirror again. This time, it did not disappear.

It was just in the mirror. Blackie actively appeared before other people for the first time.

“Do you need me to tell you who I am again?”

“The Grim Reaper!” The three peed their pants. The Grim Reaper was actually right before them.
