Chapter 711: Dragonslayers Are Big Deals

Like \'hey, I once had the chance to spar with a Dragonslayer! No cap!\' kind of boast you could tell your friends.

We were separated and gathered back in our groups and I found Andrew, the Off-Worlder who had that [Dating Sim] boon and attempted to use it on me last year, approaching me.

"This is why I try not to stand out…" He whispered while trying to look discreet. "But seriously… Did you actually kill a dragon?"

I nodded, "Yeah. I found a Dungeon near my old place and trained myself there. One of the floor bosses was the infant dragon that I was talking about.

"Is that how you got that strong?"

I tilted my head at him, "Didn\'t you get all those cheats from the gods anyway? You\'re already stronger than the average person around here."

"Yeah… But asking me to fight a dragon even now is too high of a hurdle for me, you know? It\'s not like I was some kind of fighter in my past life."

"Past life? What are you talking about?" Odeta asked, giving Andrew an odd look.

He looked at her for a moment before looking back at me, "She… Doesn\'t know?"

I shrugged, "The topic never came up…"

"Ah… Err… In that case, don\'t mind me, I was just speaking nonsense."

Odeta narrowed her eyes at him but chose not to say anything and opted to just remain behind me.

Andrew continued, "I have to ask… Just out of curiosity… Where is that Dungeon you had found the dragon at?"

"Why? You planning to go Dungeon diving?"

"Hey, do you know how valuable dragon parts are? I could be set for life if I could hunt a dragon and sell their parts at an auction! Obviously I\'m not planning to go right now but… Hey, you listening?"

Unfortunately for him, I wasn\'t because I just got reminded of all the monster parts I actually have inside my Pack of Folding.

I\'ve not only hunted the dragon, I was quite literally farming the dragon for its parts.

I don\'t even know how many bones, talons, organs and scales I have stored away in that bag…

I guess I\'ll just give them to Emilia when I get home and let her figure out what to do with it. Maybe it could help her with the business she was planning.

Thus, when he asked if I was listening, I was jolted out of my thoughts which he definitely noticed.

"Huh? What? Sorry?" I muttered.

He narrowed his eyes at me, "Don\'t tell me… You didn\'t stop at just hunting it once but you went ahead to farm it?"

"Err… Maybe?"

"Holy shit… Hey, you think you can spare me a knuckle bone from it or something? Please?!"

Odeta then let out a low growl from behind me which made Andrew jump.

"Woah, woah! Chillax! I was just joking! I\'m not that shameless!"

I chuckled, "It\'s ok, Odeta. Anyway… The Dungeon is located on Dragon Sanctuary. I can\'t tell you where exactly though."

He grimaced, "Are you serious? Bloody hell… If it\'s there I wouldn\'t even need to go to a Dungeon to find a dragon… They\'d be everywhere already."

"I can point you to an undead dragon though, but I don\'t think you would be able to solo it. And it\'s also the final boss of the Dungeon."

"Yeah… No thanks. Should have known trying to get rich quick would come with requirements…"

He grumbled a little more before trudging off.

Odeta waited until he left before turning her head back to me, "Sister Aster! That gave me an idea! How about we go back and fight the dragon together?! I wanna fight a dragon together with Sister Aster!"

Well, that was literally what I was thinking about less than an hour ago so I don\'t mind actually.

I giggled, "Ehehe~ Maybe we can go back during the holidays? It sounds like another field trip we could take."

"Wahahaha! That sounds great! Let\'s do that!"

I promised her that we would, right as Instructor Henry called for our attention again.

"Alright… Putting aside that unexpected revelation from those two, well done to all of you. I see that the older students have not been slacking off their training and the new students certainly have the skills needed to be in this class. Don\'t worry if you find yourself overwhelmed by your opponent. These are professionals who have fought for a living so they are more experienced than all of you.

You will have the chance to do so in the future as well."

Oh~ That means we could have another trip down into the school Dungeon again~ Hopefully this time it wouldn\'t have the same problem as the last time we went there.

Though I guess it would be rather useless to Odeta and I since the monsters there are quite weak as compared to the ones we have fought before.

I have a feeling we would be asked by the instructor to be helpers to assist our classmates instead of joining as a participant ourselves. Which I have no problem with doing, just saying.

My normal role in a party is already a support anyway so I\'m used to supporting and helping a party. That means Odeta would most likely be really bored doing it unless she\'s grouped up with me.

Instructor Henry then clapped his hands together, "Alright, that\'s the end of our class today since I know a number of you probably want to have a talk with two specific people in the class at this point. Don\'t stay too long and keep yourselves in check."

He then turned around and led the Mercenaries and Dungeoneers off the field, which made everyone else in our class immediately swivel their heads towards Odeta and I.

Ah… They\'re coming here…

"Aster! You really killed a dragon on your own?!"

"What was the dragon like?!"

"How did you kill it?"

"Where did you kill one?!"

"Is it true that a dragon\'s breath could burn so hot that even ashes wouldn\'t remain?!"

"Odeta! Please teach me how to be as strong as you!!"

Oh geez… Everyone please calm down now…

Odeta came to my rescue by letting out a roar that stunned everyone into silence, a few of them even taking a few steps back out of fear.

I quickly cleared my throat to get their attention, "Ahem… I don\'t mind answering questions but one at a time please… Anyway… I did kill a dragon but technically not alone since I made use of my Shadow Summon to help me kill it. The killing blow was dealt when I drove a sword through its head. I don\'t remember where exactly I killed it and I\'m not too sure about the dragon\'s breath thing."

I decided to lie about the location for this since I didn\'t want them to know where I was actually from.

Anyway, I realised I really killed that infant dragon while I was literally still a child huh? Time really flies.

One of the senior students gasped, "So it really is true? But I thought a dragon would need an entire party of professionals to take one down! And even if there was a party, they might not succeed either!"

Well… I really did have a party since I could summon more than one Shadow Summon at a time but I can\'t tell them that…

I shrugged, "Back then I was going through a Dungeon as part of my training and fell into a boss room so I really had no choice but to defeat it or else I\'d die. I won\'t say it was easy because I definitely broke some bones and almost died while fighting it. Though in the end I managed to slay it. Anyway, it was an infant dragon, not a fully grown one.

But apparently that was enough to get me the title."

Another student nodded, "Of course it is! Finding a dragon is already pretty rare around here and fighting a dragon inside a Dungeon is even harder. Anyone who can do it, especially on their own, is definitely worthy of the title."

I guess that makes sense… In an enclosed space like a Dungeon, you have limited space to manoeuvre and you aren\'t able to make too many preparations since you would be facing the monster in its home grounds.

If you fight one outside of the Dungeon, you could even make use of traps and other machinery like ballistas to help you take one down.

A female Mahun student suddenly spoke up without warning, "Aster! Would you… Would you please be my teacher?!"

Everyone stared at the girl for a moment right before several other students surged forward with their hands extended.

"Me too, Aster!"

"I want to be taught too!"

"Let me be your disciple, Aster!!"

… Help?
