Chapter 160: Chapter 160:A Dead End [2]

There was just one living thing it couldn\'t be contracted with besides me.

The corrupted figure.

Spirits can see anything, can\'t they?

They should have been easily able to see through my corrupted figure, instantly not recognizing it as a human.

At that point, the spirit should have definitely realized that something was off.

From there, the possibilities could be endless.

The spirit could have recognized that Alya was obviously the most suspicious person, prompting them to switch to another person.

That person could have been anyone besides my corrupted figure.

Attacking Alya right now wouldn\'t do anything, as there was a possibility that the spirit was contracted with another member of the main cast.

Then, everyone here was my enemy.

Appearing ten meters up in the air, I levitated in the air before dismissing my only escape route from this underground space.

Over two hundred meters above me, a single pitch-black crow that was flying the night sky, blending in completely, suddenly disappeared.

This time, it didn\'t disappear because it was blending in so well with the night sky...it truly disappeared, leaving no trace.

Instead of a sense of panic overwhelming me as I floated in the air with time-slowed, a sense of relief flooded through my body.

I was going to win; why would I need an escape route?

If you have an escape route or backup plan ready, then you\'ve already lost, both mentally and physically.

Feeling the corruption from the crow flood into my body, I didn\'t waste a second as I immediately used the new corruption.

At this point, everyone was right under my levitating figure, their spells and swords already swinging and aiming at me.

Right where I needed them.

Sending shockwaves through my body, I allowed the ocean-blue mana to flow out of my body, crystalizing around all of us.

The mana left my body, slowly accumulating and surrounding all of us until it was done.

In less than a second, an entire ocean-blue mana cage was surrounding us, preventing anyone from leaving and entering.

The next second, a small dot of pitch-black color appeared on the blue mana-cage, blemishing it.

The next, there were countless more black dots appearing all over the mana cage until, finally, they had overtaken the mana.

The red wand of Irene and Ruby, the blue wand of Lily, the blue sword of Liam, the grey sword of Zach, the blue sword of Alya, and the red sword of Kevin all disappeared.

They were still there... but the pure pitch-blackness of the shadow cage suppressed their colors, not allowing them to be seen.

The room was pitch black... no one could see what was in front of them or even their own body.

No one could see their hands or their weapons in front of them.

Levitating right below the roof of the shadow cage, I stared downwards at the seven main cast members, each of them... still aiming at me.

The next moment, all the spells and countless sword slashes flew at me, prompting me to flap my wing, appearing on the floor.

"WHERE IS HE!?"

"THIS IS ME, YOU IDIOT."

Leaving the cast members chaos, I strolled through the shadow cage, silently, carefully maneuvering around the main cast members until I finally reached someone.

In front of me stood a silver-haired girl with ocean-blue eyes, her ice-blue sword being held shakingly in her arms.

Alya was acting irregularly despite the fact that the spirit should have already negated their contract with her.

If the spirit simply had manipulated her to forget everything, Alya would be acting normally, yet here she was, trembling right in front of me.

And even before I implemented the shadow cage, she was still rushing towards the end of the path.

What the spirit hadn\'t manipulated her memories... but instead, used them against her.

Alya, who had regained all her memories of being manipulated after breaking the contract with the spirit, would have realized that the spirit wouldn\'t have just left her be.

It would have found another target.

Someone else in the main cast.

The spirit must have told Alya something along the lines before ending the contract.

"Take us to the end of the path, or ___ dies."

Taking off my mask and revealing my face, I reached out, grabbing Alya\'s shoulders and stopping her from trembling.

Not giving her any information, I simply leaned into her ear and whispered.

"Who is it?"

Having her body forcefully stopped from trembling, Alya immediately flicked her head, turning to face the sound of my voice.

Seemingly recognizing the sound of my voice, I felt Alya\'s body begin to shake even more, but again, I gripped her shoulders, stopping her from making any sound.

After a moment, she somehow turned right into me, despite there being no light, and whispered in a quiet voice.

"h-he said it was Zach."

...he chose the least powerful person out of everyone here?

Patting her on the shoulder, I whispered back.

"It\'s done...just be patient."

Leaving behind the scared Alya, I flapped my wings once, teleporting right in front of Lily and my corrupted figure.

Tapping her on the back, I quietly whispered.

"It\'s not Alya...I need you to relax them. Make them feel as if this is just because of the cave."

Then, without waiting for a response, I flapped my wing, appearing right above Zach, with my corrupted figure silently making his way to Zach as well.

"...I\'m sorry about this, Zach...but don\'t blame me if I enjoy it."

Like a seagull flying into the ocean to scoop up a fish, I flew head-first downwards right at Zach.

At the same time, Lily\'s loud voice could be heard echoing throughout the mana cage.

"EVERYONE, CALM DOWN, THIS IS NORMAL, IT\'S GOING TO GET DARKER AS WE GO FURTHER INTO THE CAVE."

Stopping a meter before I hit Zach head-on, I waited for his reaction.
