Chapter 24: Alliance
Surely, she had other trusted confidantes on her side, however, compared to the number of supporters of that bastard, Rheina wasn\'t an idiot to just confront him that recklessly.
"Did the Crown Prince promise you he will give his support if you manage to steal the item that was hidden in the Chevalier\'s hidden room?"
Rheina smiled bitterly as she shook off her head and sighed; "Yes, he offered that to me, but I declined. Who in their right mind to believe such an absurd proposal? Does the Crown Prince think I am some sort of pushover just like his oh-so-hunting dog of his?"
"But then, you still accept this mission and even infiltrate this household. Are you trying to say you did this on your own accord? Hmmm?"
She chuckled at how comfortable she was when conversing with this young child; "Sir Eclipse, I might have declined his offer of support but the information he gave away, whether it\'s true or a lie, I don\'t care about it."
He snorted; "Of course, you won\'t care about it. After all, you desperately need that item, the elixir called [Dawn of Tears] to treat your youngest little brother, REXTON CLANDESTINE, who suffers from ARDUS SYNDROME. Am I right?"
The Lotus Killer didn\'t know what to say anymore. Everything has been laid without her saying anything to this young child. As if he had everything under his control without anyone knowing about it.
\'They don\'t have any idea that there is a harmless rabbit inside their manor who acts gullible, but in reality, he is a fierce wolf ready to strike back if needed. Just how these people are too blind not to see how wicked and cunning this child was?\'
Since a temporary alliance has formed between them, Rheina made a wise decision because she doesn\'t want to become enemies with a person like Eclipse who knows everything and can control the situation under his commands as he pleases.
\'It\'s a wise decision to have an alliance with him even if it\'s only temporary, but I am thinking if I could offer something else for him to support me in fighting those bastards.\'
She knows what she\'s thinking is a risk and a gamble, but the Lotus Killer doesn\'t have a choice. She needs more people to help her fight back against those Elders and reclaim their authority from them permanently.
Rheina; "It looks like the rumors about you being bad-tempered and having an ill-mannered personality were just all nothing but a façade to cover up your true nature. I am impressed, Sir Eclipse."
Eclipse raised an eyebrow at her because of her nonsense theory but didn\'t bother to correct her and just let her imagination go wild. It\'s a waste of time to explain trivial things, anyway.
"Just to remind you once again, that item, the elixir called [Dawn of Tears], do you have any idea what kind of elixir that was?"
"From my investigation alone, I discovered that the [Dawn of Tears] is an elixir created by mixing two different bloodline powers bestowed by the Gods\' blessings.
I believe it to have the ability to cure any disease, particularly Ardus Syndrome, which is rumored to be a cursed disease originating from the Gods."
Eclipse; \'Just as I thought. She only knew half of the details about the [Dawn of Tears] and it wasn\'t a complete detail at all.\'
However, the "elixir" she was talking about wasn\'t an elixir at all. That was just a made-up lie.
"Are you sure about that information you got? How come a precious elixir like that is in the hands of the Chevalier household, of all people? If words came out about this, it would be a huge chaos not only for this empire but also for the neighboring empires and kingdoms as well.
Also, how come that the Crown Prince knew about this?"
Rheina didn\'t speak as she listened to this young child and from his words alone, she could pick up at least one or two of those sentences alone.
\'It looks like the Crown Prince planted spies within the Chevalier household as well. What a bold move for him to do this. Is the royal family trying to cause internal strife with the household of war heroes? No, I don\'t think so.
The Emperor isn\'t that stupid to provoke the Chevaliers and I bet it\'s all the Crown Prince\'s doing.\'
"So, what should we do first? The elixir or the elimination?"
Her thoughts were interrupted when she was questioned about what to do first. Honestly speaking, she didn\'t know what to do first.
At first, she only cared about stealing the elixir from the Chevaliers and nothing else.
However, she couldn\'t help but think about the internal strife within her clan because of that traitor, Thesus Yor.
The majority of the councils are in favor of that bastard and only a handful of people were by her side and their numbers and influence aren\'t that great.
The only reason for Rheina to have her position kept intact is because of her great-uncle, who holds the highest position within the Council of Elders, but her great-uncle is already old enough and she\'s worried about what will happen to him.
His youngest little brother, Rexton Clandestine, is under the protection of her great-uncle but it won\'t be that long, and she needs to go back as soon as possible before anything happens.
"Rheina, you don\'t need to think about the internal strife happening within your clan. Focus on what you need to achieve first. How do you plan to enter the Chevalier\'s Hall of Legacy?"
