Chapter 129: Scream

Garnt spared a quick glance in their direction, a small smile breaking through his intense expression. "I\'m fine, Ayra. It\'s Huta who needs our help. We\'ll talk later. Kara, quickly ask the best student of my mother to come and meet me at the stable."

The crowd buzzed with speculation, confusion, and concern as Garnt made his way towards the makeshift stable. Villagers exchanged anxious glances, wondering if their peaceful village was now facing a threat.

As Garnt gently laid Huta down and started tending to the wounds, Ayra and Rona exchanged a glance of relief and concern. "He\'s alright, but what could have caused this?" Rona whispered to Ayra.

Ayra shook her head, her eyes never leaving Garnt. "I don\'t know, but we need to find out. And look, he\'s determined to hunt someone down. This is serious."

The village, now in a state of mild panic, awaited an explanation. Garnt, finishing his initial treatment on Huta with Gundo\'s student, stood up with a resolute expression. "We have an intruder, someone dangerous. I\'ll find her. But for now, we must ensure the safety of our village."

The crowd hushed as Garnt\'s words were spread around the crowd, the gravity of the situation sinking in. The once tranquil village now stood at the edge of uncertainty, and the residents awaited their leader\'s next move with bated breath.

But suddenly a deafening growl echoed through the village, causing everyone to cover their ears in pain. Panic spread like wildfire as people frantically looked around, fear etched on their faces. Ayra and Rona, still near Garnt, exchanged alarmed glances.

"What in the world is that?" Ayra shouted over the panic.

Garnt, his eyes widening, quickly scanned the surroundings. "It\'s not the intruder. Something else is in the forest. It sounds a lot like-"

[It\'s the owner of the dropping we found in the forest. Our biggest threat right now is the dinosaur that attacked our group when we were fighting Moga.]

As the crowd trembled in fear, Garnt sprinted towards one of the tall watchtowers, climbing it with agility. From the elevated vantage point, he gazed into the forest, and his expression darkened.

"It\'s really that dinosaur," he called out to the villagers, his voice cutting through the chaos. "But don\'t panic. It\'s far away, won\'t reach us for now."

The villagers, although relieved that the danger wasn\'t imminent, exchanged nervous glances. Garnt\'s words did little to assuage their fear.

Meanwhile, Rona\'s voice rose above the commotion as she struggled to soothe a scared little dinosaur in the village. "Garo, calm down! We need to keep them safe too!"

The baby dinosaur, named Garo, squeaked in distress, its small eyes wide with fear. Rona, with determination, tried to comfort the creature while keeping a watchful eye on the looming threat in the forest. Fortunately, Maro came forward and started to lick the baby so that it would feel the warmth. For some reason, the dinosaur baby started to calm down.

But looking at the similiarty between the two creatures, Garnt couldn\'t help but think.

"Eva, aren\'t we doing something horrible? That creature might be searching for its egg. I don\'t really know whether it would be a good idea to keep Garo with us," He expressed his concerns.

[Even if that is the case what are we going to do now? Take Garo to meet that giant creature and put our lives at risk. We don\'t even know whether that is really the intention of that giant creature. Our only option is to take it down, even if it is wrong we should do it.]

She paused for a minute, as she had to remind Garnt about what kind of consequences his type of thinking would have on the village and remind him about his responsibility.

[If you want to be a good leader, you have to be cruel sometimes. I will only give that advice so it\'s upto you now.]

Hearing her advice, Garnt looked at Garo and his other villagers, who were staring at him with scared faces, and he knew Eva\'s words were like blessings to his worst decisions.

He stood on the tall tower like the sole leader and took the decision.

"We will carry out our long-term plan. From today onward, we are going to work without stopping. We need to protect our children and our peaceful life. As your patriarch, I will make sure no matter how insane the creature is, I won\'t allow any of them to destroy our home and that\'s my promise as your one and only patriarch,"

The earlier faces of doubt and fear quickly started to turn into something brighter and more hopeful, and Eva couldn\'t help but smile inside.

[That\'s my boy! I will always be with you no matter what. I will always support you, no matter how bad your decisions are. After all, you\'re the only thing that matters to me in this world where I have no hope.]

Two weeks had passed since the village found itself under the looming threat of the giant creature. The air was tense, but the villagers, under Garnt\'s leadership, had been working tirelessly to prepare for the impending danger. The once peaceful village now buzzed with activity as wooden structures took shape and defensive tools were being crafted.

In the heart of the village, Garnt stood with Gundo and Unami, proud of the progress they had made. The trio gazed upon the two newly constructed wooden ballistae and trebuchets that now stood as guardians against the approaching danger.

He was personally helping the workers build these new tools with his instructions because he knew a simple mistake would be enough for them to break after using them one time.

Garnt, with a determined look, explained, "These will be our first line of defence. With these, we can at least try to fend off the creature and keep our village safe." Gundo and Unami nodded in approval, impressed by the makeshift arsenal. None of them understood the core mechanics, but they understood one thing.

It was something like a giant bow that Garnt was building and they knew it might be the best solution to attack something so colossal.

As they inspected the weapons, Garnt continued, "I\'ve already sent the plans to Baktou, hoping he can use them for the mining village as well. We need to stand united against this threat."

Gundo, always the kind one, asked, "Do you really think this is the right way, Garnt? What if the creature was just looking for its egg?"

Eva had to sigh knowing where Garnt got some of his qualities from and she knew undoubtedly, he was Gundo\'s child.

Garnt sighed, remembering Eva\'s words from weeks ago. "Sometimes, to protect the ones we care about, we have to make tough decisions. It\'s a responsibility I can\'t shy away from. I\'d rather make cruel decisions than wrong decisions."

Unami added, "We\'ve seen the devastation in the hotspring village. We can\'t afford to let that happen here."

With a confident tone, Garnt shared his plan, "In a few more weeks, these weapons will be ready. We need to be prepared for whatever comes our way. I just hope the dinosaur won\'t attack soon."

As they discussed strategies and inspected the defences, the village remained on edge. It was still a mystery who and what was that muscular woman who attacked Garnt and the village was, but they had to keep moving forward.

Meanwhile, in Amel\'s village, the woman who was listening to the report of the spies kept nodding her head. She heard about how the muscular woman tried to attack Garnt\'s village but lost, and she quickly realized she was like Moga. Without proper instructions, her raw strength is just incomplete. However, when she heard about how Garnt fought with her, a slight smile came to her face.

\'So he managed to wound her despite her being way stronger than him. Interesting!" She muttered and looked at her own hands.

"Tell Amel, that we should quickly attack while they are getting ready. Unless, we hurry they will increase their security and it will be much harder for us to attack,"

The other man, who had provided all the information to this strange woman, left the room, knowing she was the last person he wanted to interact with.

"What a creepy woman! I feel like she is squeezing my neck whenever she is close to me," he muttered and left to meet Amel, hoping that things wouldn\'t get too bad for them. However, inside the wooden hut where the strange woman was supposed to be, suddenly a smiling sound emerged, sounding happier than before.
