Chapter 412: Chapter 412 - The Flame Riders
Chapter 412: - The Flame Riders
"Uhm..." Ivana responded, her voice filled with a hint of excitement. "Look at this, Broken."
Ivana then placed her hands on the second horse\'s head again. Suddenly, the flames surrounding the creature flared wildly, swirling like a vortex. In a flash, the horse was sucked into the flames and vanished right before their eyes.
"What just happened?!"n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Ivana giggled. "I formed a contract with the horse. Now she\'s staying in her own space."
"Formed a contract?!" Broken was stunned. "Ivana, only beast masters can form contracts with beasts, especially demon beasts. How did you do that?"
Ivana shrugged with a smile. "I just tried communicating with the horse, and then I got an option to form a contract with it."
"Wait, what?" Broken was still reeling from the surprise. How does she manage to do things like this so easily? Every time they were in a situation where something was needed, Ivana somehow developed the exact ability required to solve it. It left Broken in awe-and a little bewildered.
"How is this possible?" he murmured, more to himself than to her.
"Can you do anything else, like heal the beast or form contracts with multiple beasts, Ivana?" Broken asked, still trying to wrap his head around what had just happened.
Ivana paused for a moment, then smiled and shook her head. "I don\'t think so, Broken... I can only store the beast in something like a special dimensional space for it. And summon it whenever I need to."
Isn\'t that a beastmaster skill? It sounded exactly like the skill Marlene had shared with him.
"But how did you suddenly get that skill? You couldn\'t do this before, right?" he asked, genuinely perplexed.
Ivana seemed confused herself. She gave a small smile and shrugged. "Maybe because I really wanted to bring the horse with me? since... well, you\'re going to have the same horse," she added casually.
Her words made Broken think of Princess Alora. During a critical moment, she had suddenly gained assistance from her ancestor, King Elandorr, the Sloth Champion, and received a powerful upgrade. Could something similar be happening with Ivana?
"Do you have any important ancestors, Ivana? Like a Divine Champion or someone special in your lineage?" Broken asked, half-joking but genuinely curious.
Ivana paused, giggling softly. "What are you talking about? Of course, I wouldn\'t know... I was raised by Gia since I was a child."
Broken sighed, feeling both amused and intrigued by the mystery surrounding her. There\'s definitely more to her than she realizes, he thought.
But then he remembered that some Warrior classes had skills to adopt a beast as their steed, though not as advanced as a specialist beast master. It made sense, really. A class like Ivana\'s could easily have at least one skill to tame a beast for casual riding.
"Broken, let\'s form the contract now... we can both have similar beasts, and bring them out of here together!" Ivana said excitedly.
"Okay," Broken nodded, turning back to the first horse.
He focused on activating the skill.
[Demonic Pact: Beast Haven (One-time usage skill)]
[You have activated the Demonic Pact skill]
[Target Demon Beast detected.]
[Affinity requirements met.]
[There is no resistance from the beast.]
[Would you like to form the pact?]
Broken nodded.
[The pact has been formed.]
[A new Demon Beast has been registered: Unique - Charfire Equine Lv. 223]
[Beast Haven has been unlocked. You can store the beast within it and summon it whenever you wish.]
[The pact formation is complete.]
With the contract sealed, Broken felt a strange but powerful connection form between him and the Charfire Equine. He now had full control over when and where to summon the fiery beast.
"Looks like it\'s done," Broken said, glancing at her. "We did it."
Ivana smiled brightly. "Now we can bring them both with us!"
Broken smiled, satisfied that yet another of his objectives had been completed. He stored the Charfire Equine, watching as the fiery horse vanished from his sight-so convenient. Turning back to Ivana, he noticed her excitement.
"Let\'s go for a hunt, Broken," she said eagerly.
"Hunt?" Broken paused, but then an idea struck him. A particular demon came to mind, one he\'d been itching to hunt again—especially because the drop items from that demon were
incredibly valuable.
"Yes, let\'s hunt," he agreed.
Both of them summoned their Charfire Equines simultaneously, and seeing the two identical beasts appear before them filled Broken with a sense of excitement. There was something thrilling about sharing this moment with Ivana.
"Broken, let\'s give the beasts names!" she suggested enthusiastically.
"A name?" He thought for a moment. "Do you have any ideas for both of them, Ivana?"
"You\'re letting me name both?" she asked.
"Yes,"
Ivana tapped her finger on her lips, thinking hard before grinning with excitement. "How about Blaze for yours, and Flare for mine?"
"Blaze and Flare..." Broken repeated, smiling. Though his smile was more in response to Ivana\'s infectious joy than the names themselves. "Yes, those are great names. I like them."
"Thanks... I like them too," she giggled.
Broken then turned to his beast. "Hey, Blaze... your name is Blaze now."
The horse let out a soft whinny, lifting its head and tossing it as if acknowledging the new
name.
Broken mounted the Charfire Equine, and for a moment, he was overwhelmed by a wave of pure euphoria. The thrill of sitting atop the flaming horse was even better than he had
imagined.
Damn! Damn! Damn.
With a grin, Broken equipped the Mask of Scorched Fury, a demon helmet that made him look
as if his head were engulfed in flames. Then came the Molten Bulwark, a chest armor with fiery streams flowing across its surface. Lastly, he summoned The Scorch Slayer, a longsword wreathed in fire. All three were Legendary-grade items.
To complete the look, he wore the Invincible Paragon, an armor set that, while not fiery itself, adjusted its color scheme to match. It now glowed with molten red lava patterns, casting an eerie glow against the dark night.
He turned to Ivana, feeling the weight of his new appearance. "Ivana, what do you think?"
Ivana\'s eyes widened with excitement. "Broken... you look so cool!"
Her response only made him grin wider. This is perfect, he thought.
Ah, Broken suddenly remembered something. He pulled out the Dress of Shadows, a rare item he had looted from Gremory, along with the Crystal Elegance Heels he had won from a gacha
ticket.
He dismounted from Blaze and handed the items to Ivana. "Here, wear these, Ivana. I\'m sure they\'ll suit you perfectly."
Ivana nodded, taking the dress and heels with a smile. She disappeared briefly behind some trees, and when she returned, she looked breathtaking. The black dress flowed down to the ground like a shroud of darkness, with a slit running high along her left leg. The heels complemented the outfit perfectly, adding an air of elegance to her look.
As soon as Ivana mounted her Charfire Equine, the dress ignited with a subtle aura of flames, flickering around her body. It was one of the special effects of the dress, adjusting to her attributes and surroundings, adding a fierce, fiery touch.
"You look perfect, Ivana," Broken said, admiring how the outfit enhanced her presence.
"Really? I like it too... thanks. Now we look like a pair of fiery demons ready to burn the world," she said in her usual innocent tone.
Broken chuckled at her choice of words. "Your word choice, Ivana... but yeah, I think that\'s a
great idea." He laughed softly.
Ivana only needed a demon mask now to fully disguise herself, in case Broken wanted to
invite her along for one of his undercover missions.
"Okay, Ivana, follow me," Broken said. "There\'s a unique monster we can hunt that drops
some pretty valuable items."
"Yes, I\'m ready," she responded eagerly.
Blaze and Flare took off through the trees, their hooves leaving trails of fire in the dark forest. The two riders, wrapped in flames themselves, raced side by side, a fierce and striking duo-
two blazing figures atop fiery steeds, ready for the hunt.
"Ivana, give me a good name for our duo."
Ivana\'s face lit up as she thought for a moment. "How about... \'The Flame Riders?\' Or...
\'Firestorm Duo\'? Oh! Maybe \'Blaze and Dazzle!\'"
Broken chuckled at her suggestions. "I think you\'ve got a pretty unique imagination, Ivana,"
The said with a laugh.
