Chapter 263: - The Cape of Slumdon
"Yara?" he hesitated, glancing at her, wondering if she was still confused about the salary issue.
"My Lord," Yara greeted him cheerfully with a bright smile. "I\'ve prepared your clothes, and there\'s a special cape made just for the City Lord."
"Oh really?" He walked over to the table to inspect the neatly folded fabric, revealing a white cape. There were also white garments, a shirt, and pants that looked incredibly grand, like those worn by nobility in the kingdom.
"Ah, this looks nice," he said, immediately changing into the new clothes.Nôv(el)B\\\\jnn
Now dressed in a crisp white casual suit with blue accents and a magnificent white cape, he looked every bit the part of a noble. The cape was trimmed with gold and adorned with intricate embroidery, creating an elegant and regal appearance befitting of a Baron. It perfectly complemented the suit.
Upon closer examination of the cape, he noticed it was an Epic-grade and had unique stats and skills attached to it.

After reading the description of the cape, Broken realized he could now assess the talents of not only the people he had hired as employees but also all the registered residents of Slumdon. Wasn\'t that incredible? This way, it would be so much easier for him to analyze everyone\'s talents and pick the right people to hire soon.
"Good," he said to Yara, smiling. "Thanks, Yara. I really like it."
"Yes, my Lord, you look very handsome in that outfit," she replied with a bright smile.
"Really?" he asked, looking at her. "Thanks for the compliment, Yara."
Yara\'s face suddenly turned red, and she waved her hands in a panic. "No, my Lord, sorry, I didn\'t mean it like that. No, that\'s not what I meant."
Broken chuckled and patted her shoulder gently. "Take it easy, okay? No need to be so tense around me," he said softly, watching her as she tried to calm herself down.
"When I speak and it sounds normal, don\'t overthink it. If I\'m angry, I\'ll show it; if I\'m happy, I\'ll show it. So, if I\'m just speaking in a regular tone, there\'s no need to be afraid." He then corrected himself. "I mean, I\'m not the type to get angry easily, so just get rid of any preconceived notions you might have about a city lord, okay?"
Yara nodded slowly. "Yes, my Lord."
"Good." Broken smiled warmly and patted her head.
That gesture only made Yara blush even more. "He is so kind..." Yara said, meaning to keep it to herself but accidentally speaking out loud. Then, she felt even more embarrassed.
Broken just laughed at her behavior, finding it cute.
After waiting a few moments for Yara to regain her composure, Broken continued, "So, will you join me for another tour of this house?"
"Yes, my Lord. I can show you to the blacksmith workshop, and you can ask me about any facilities you might need that I haven\'t mentioned yet," Yara replied.
Broken nodded slowly and checked his map on the system. "I can access a map of the house from here, but I believe it would be more enjoyable to explore with someone else. So, I\'d be happy if you could accompany me as a guide."
Yara smiled at his request. "It is my pleasure to serve you, my Lord."
The two of them departed the room. Yara walked next to Broken and led him through the elevator. Yara stood in the corner, maintaining a respectful distance from Broken. It was clear she still felt uneasy being close to a person of authority. Perhaps the image of a ruler needing to be revered was deeply ingrained in their minds.
They soon reached the ground floor and stepped out of the elevator into the main room. There, they found Melliandra sitting and relaxing, accompanied by Kingsley. Both of them looked up as Broken approached, especially Melliandra, who gave Broken a strange look before quickly averting her eyes.
"Hi, Kingsley," Broken said, "have you managed to settle into your bedroom?"
Kingsley replied calmly, "Yes, Broken. I am very pleased with the service provided. And I like
the room too. I really like this place, and the city is so beautiful."
"Shut up, people pleaser!" Melliandra quipped at Kingsley.
Broken then turned his attention to Melliandra. "What about you, Melliandra?"
Melliandra\'s response was short and curt. "Don\'t talk to me!"
Broken smiled warmly and added, "Please take your time. There\'s something I need to take
care of first," he said before following Yara out of the house.
Yara guided Broken to the rear of the house, where rows of plants lined the area. Unfortunately, they didn\'t appear very healthy. Despite Yara\'s efforts, the harsh weather conditions had taken their toll on the plants and flowers.
"Do you enjoy gardening, Yara?"
"Yes, my Lord," she replied. "But I\'m having trouble finding seeds, and the dry soil in this region makes it difficult for plants to survive."
Broken nodded and smiled. "I\'ll help you get the seeds you need, and hopefully, you can create a beautiful garden here."
"My Lord, are you sure?" Yara asked, her face glowing with admiration.
"Yes, I know you like gardening. Let me help you make this garden even more beautiful."
"But I\'ve never learned much about gardening-I\'m afraid of disappointing you. But I will try my best to learn," she said anxiously.
"Don\'t worry. I can see that you have a natural talent for gardening and the interest to go along with it. Just do it!"
"I would be more than happy to take care of these flowers and make this garden beautiful," Yara said enthusiastically.
Broken was well aware of Yara\'s interest in gardening, given that she had the \'Green Thumb\' talent, even if it was only rated a D. Nonetheless, it was clear that she had a genuine fondness
for it.

They kept walking toward the back part of the property, where a small, old building stood with rough stone walls. Sooty black marks and charred streaks covered it. The windows were cracked, and the door dangled loosely from its hinges.
"My Lord, this is the blacksmith workshop," Yara explained. "The previous Lord had a personal blacksmith who fulfilled all his requests here. But, sorry, I will make sure to repair
and tidy up everything."
Broken smiled, feeling pleased. He had finally found a place where he could spend a lot of time crafting things in private, alone, without anyone bothering him.
