Chapter 204: - All Work and No Play
ultimate weapon-maker!]
The Royal Hammer he wielded possessed a talent that enabled him to accelerate the forging process, giving Broken a significant advantage over other blacksmiths.
Broken was hunched over his workbench, his eyes intensely focused on the intricate details of his craftsmanship. His hands moved swiftly, expertly forging and welding pieces of metal into intricately designed sets of equipment.
Every minute was precious, and he worked tirelessly to meet his target. Sweat trickled down his forehead, and he occasionally glanced up to check his progress, determination burning in his eyes.
The royal blacksmiths gathered on the other side of the workshop, watching Broken work intently. They were awestruck by the speed and precision with which he moved his hands, expertly handling the materials.
"He\'s so intense," one of them commented. "How can he keep up such a work pace without taking any breaks?"
"He only takes breaks to eat and log out of the game," someone replied.
"I\'m truly inspired by Baron Broken\'s work ethic, but I don\'t think I can be as diligent as him," said another.
"I\'ve seen that he has crafted several items, and some of them are even Epic grade," a third remarked.
"I think a work ethic like his allows him to produce two to three times more items than others," someone else suggested.
"Yeah, I think so too," another agreed.
Broken had to craft 10 items, consisting of two sets of equipment-one for himself and one for Princess Alora. He needed to ensure that the minimum grade for the items met the Epic standard to satisfy the quest\'s requirements.
Pausing for a moment, he smiled softly and took a deep breath. He had been working non- stop for 24 hours and needed some fresh air. After finishing up his work, he stepped out of the workshop.
He ventured to a different area of the castle, where a few barracks were located and a wide field stretched out, occupied by guards and knights in training. As he walked up to the side, he saw Lionell standing and observing the activities.
"Baron Broken?" Lionell noticed his presence and turned to face him.
Broken watched as his six personal knights noticed his presence and immediately halted their training. They took a step back, knee-deep in dirt and gravel, and raised their weapons in salute as he approached.
"Please, continue your training," he commanded.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
The knights bowed before resuming their exercises.
"Sir Lionell, I am very thankful that you have personally taken it upon yourself to train my personal knights," Broken said.
"It is my honor, Baron Broken. Princess Alora requested that I take on this responsibility, and
I am also delighted to be able to train the six of them," Lionell replied.
"So, how is their progress?" Broken inquired.
"Igor, who is the leader of the group and a Knight Commander, is mature enough and only requires more experience for his potential to truly grow," Lionell explained.
Broken nodded in understanding.
"Karl possesses immense courage and never gives up. I\'m certain he will ascend to a higher rank of knighthood in the near future," Lionell continued. "Yann is also very skilled with a bow. His proficiency is unquestionable."
Broken nodded along with Lionell\'s explanation.
"As for Damir," Lionell continued, "he is quite adept at learning magic, and he has already mastered two types of pyro magic within the two weeks he trained. I believe your decision to have him learn magic was a wise one. He is clearly very talented, and you are fortunate to have him among your Knights."
Broken nodded once more. "Does this mean that perhaps all the Knights in the kingdom might have more potential than what they are currently focusing on?"
Lionell paused before responding. "Knights are given the freedom to choose their own path, but it is not always easy to recognize the talents of each individual, my Lord Broken. I believe you have a good eye for doing just that."
Broken smiled faintly, realizing he was merely utilizing the features of Land Management to assess the capabilities of his knights.
"And for Anna," Lionell continued, pointing to an 18-year-old female Knight with shoulder- length blonde hair. "I\'ve never seen someone as passionate as her. She has an incredible affinity for the greatsword and can learn to wield it quickly."
Broken nodded slowly and smiled, watching Anna. She reminded him of Lily, his own sister, who had a similar hairstyle and the same fiery determination.
"And for Inggrid," Lionell continued. "She picked up how to use dual swords quickly, and I believe she has a natural talent for that type of weapon."
Broken nodded again, feeling pleased with the progress of all the knights under Lionell\'s tutelage.
After checking the overall stats of his six knights, he noticed a slight improvement. Although the upgrades were small, they made him even more excited to finish his crafting so he could take the knights out hunting and enhance their stats and skills further.
Broken also noticed the six knights were now using new weapons, clearly showing they had received special attention. Was this really because of Princess Alora\'s request? He should thank her more for this. Moreover, Lionell, a Knight Grand Cross, had personally trained them. He couldn\'t ask for more than that.
On his way back to the blacksmith workshop, Broken spotted a sprawling garden nearby. In its center, he noticed someone waving. He stopped in his tracks.
"Broken, come here," Princess Alora\'s voice called out.
He walked towards her, noting she was donned in shimmering silver battle armor.
Bowing slowly, he greeted her, "Good afternoon, Princess Alora."
He wondered why she was dressed in such armor. Was there something urgent outside the
palace?
"I\'ve heard many talking about your tireless work ethic. Is that true?" Princess Alora asked, curiosity in her tone.
Broken smiled, a hint of eagerness in his voice. "No, Princess. I just want to finish my tasks quickly to be as productive as I can."
Alora smiled back at him. "Are you sure you can keep up with working non-stop like that?"
"No need to worry, Princess. I\'m quite used to this kind of work," he replied confidently. "You certainly are a hard worker. But please let me know if you need anything. The knights mentioned you don\'t eat the food from the palace. Is something wrong with it?" she asked. Broken paused for a moment. In truth, Ivana often sent him meals, and he preferred those. "No, Princess... My friend sends me food every day, so I eat what she brings. There is no problem with the palace food."
"Okay then. I\'ll be leaving the palace for a few days on a mission. If you need help, contact Lionell who will stay here." Princess Alora explained.
"Thank you, Princess," Broken replied gratefully.
"Well, I should be going now," Princess Alora said as she waved and walked away.
Broken watched her intently as she left.
"She didn\'t come here just to tell me she\'d be away on duty for a few days, did she?" he
thought.
Broken turned and headed back to the blacksmith workshop, his mind still mulling over their
encounter.
