Chapter 544: This Sound is...

After being stunned and kicked down from the sky by Poochie, the falling Lich was immediately detected by Subjugator and Xiaoxiao who were both flying toward the specters on the ground.

“Any available warrior class, take care of it!”

“Got it!”

After emitting a loud cry, Slayer’s Heart, Subjugator, Brother Da, and Little Apple accelerated toward the Undead horde that was down there—with speed faster than the Lich’s fall! There were also thirty other champions... yet, the winged champions were faster—their distance between them and the Lich was shortened to only fifty meters in three seconds.

“We’re here first!”

Little Apple’s speared ahead and dashed down toward the specters. The specters also detected her from afar and started casting numerous ranged attacks at her. As the attacks were about to land on her, a powerful air-current started swirling around her body and formed into the shape of a drill.

Spiral Cone!

Little Apple, now cloaked with this powerful air-current drill, dashed into the Undead Horde. Several specters ricocheted off to the side by Little Apple’s Spiral Cone. In a blinding instant, the swirling air current rammed, penetrated and squashed everything in its path.

Boom!!!

Swinging her favorite sword—the “Tempest Volantesis”, Little Apple swiped through the Undead Horde like slicing through hot butter. Splinters of violet lightning snazzled out of her sword as its blade cut through the specters around them, continuously zapping dozens of Skeletal Warriors and Arcane Zombies...

As she landed on the ground, a huge fireball appeared from the sky and crashed down onto the Undead crowd, sending flames and a powerful shockwave and, killing more specters that were in Little Apple’s way.

That was her pet, a Lethal Balrog—the “Big Fireball”.

Woosh woosh!

Subjugator finally arrived and waved his fiery sword. That slew a few more specters next to Little Apple. The waves of flames gushing out of his sword had also attracted many other specters’ attention.

Slayer’s Heart also started attacking at the same time as Subjugator, utilizing his immense strength to destroy a huge portion of the Undead Horde on Little Apple’s right.

“Ironpot!”

Thud!

Slayer’s Heart had summoned a huge Level 50 black spider, showing its frightfully spiny body.

Ironpot spread out eight huge sharp legs and thrust its towering black body at the remaining Undead horde—like a huge deadly assassin, dropping coldly from the sky.

In a loud thud, the huge spider landed safely with the four Winged Champions. It pierced its legs into eight Skeletal Warriors’ and Arcane Zombies’ bodies, burying them deep into the ground.

Then, the huge metallic spider suddenly spun its body and shot out its spikes! A myriad of countless spikes flew out like a swarm of locusts, piercing through many dozens of specters.

‘Damn!

‘The thing still hasn’t lost its edge huh!’

Watching from the sidelines, Brother Da could not help but feel excited.

Although he was weaker—even weaker than Little Apple, Brother Da had learned to utilize his pet to compensate for said weakness.

“Little Clown!”

Responding to his call, the Mannequin Spider appeared next to Brother Da. Flapping its heavy bat-like wings, “Little Clown” struggled to keep its armored body in the air.

Vrooom!

A huge black mist appeared behind Little Apple and engulfed a group of specters that were approaching her. Being blinded by the mist, the specters froze, and stopped all movements as they lost track of their target.

The battlefield on the ground was quickly under control with the four working together hand in hand.

Woosh woosh woooosh!

The thirty Winged Champions that were lagging behind finally reached the area and swiftly wiped out the specters within thirty meters.

Thud!

The Lich fell to the ground right after they cleared out the specters. As soon as its body touched the ground... Xiaoxiao, skillfully waved her staff, absorbed four Aquaramparts from Qin Ruo, and started to manipulate the water elements in the sky...

“Freeze!”

Booom!

The skill Twelve Frostramparts was now activated. Freezing winds blew wildly in the Death Valley, making the soulless Undead looking much colder and frightfully creepier.

In the meantime, Xiaoxiao summoned her pet Pouchy.

Although this Tier 3 Silverwing Double-headed Wasp did not change much after it reached Level 50, its bodyline was now curvier and the silver wings were now more metallic looking. Flapping its wings, a thin, hazy red poison smog blew toward the Lich.

Pouchy unleashed its poison sting and stabbed it into the Lich.

As a result, four status effects were added on the Lich—Stun, Chill, Weak, and Poison.

“Good job!”

Qin Ruo did not think that everyone was able to collaborate so well within the short time they spent together. As he chuckled, Qin Ruo shot three Darkfrost Stings at the Lich, prolonging the Chill effect by five seconds.

With the Twelve Frostramparts and Winged champions surrounding it, the Lich was unable to retaliate. Not when it had lost its barrier.

This Lich was toast.

Spreading his wings, Qin Ruo soared towards the other Winged Champions that were fighting off various specters in the air.

“Haha! You can count on us!”

Subjugator, encouraged by Qin Ruo’s praise, charged into the Frostramparts like lightning.

“Shit!”

“Don’t act rashly! Your element is fire!”

“Yeah, that was stupid! The Chill effect could be nullified!”

As everyone was yelling around in panic, several Elemental walls materialized outside of the Frostramparts, blocking out the excited Subjugator.

“Leave the Lich to us. You go take care of the Undead horde.” Slayer’s Heart conjured another elemental wall which pushed Subjugator out.

Then, with their pets taking on the specters that were approaching them, twenty Winged Champions showered their magic attacks onto the Lich that was trapped within the Frostramparts.

Slayer’s Heart, Brother Da, and Little Apple were keeping the Lich busy while Xiaoxiao maintained the Frostramparts, preventing the Lich from fleeing or retaliating.

In just a short time, the battle had settled down and things seemed to have gotten under control.

The various Tier 5 champions split up into several teams and summoned their pets—increasing firepower as they inched towards the Warp Portal.

As he rose to the sky, Qin Ruo scanned the area and spotted the five airborne battles.

There were five Winged Champions facing off five Liches.

Using the aid of the movement speed potion and relying on his own defense, Judge was able to ram off the Lich’s barrier and forced it away from everyone.

Violet Orchid had a much easier time. She was able to take on the Lich’s alone by healing herself repeatedly every time she took a blow. Halo Guard was able to negate every negative status effect. Although it was still difficult for her to completely defeat the Lich, at least it wasn’t enough to kill her.

Dinosaurcerer and Black Rock were not doing as well as her. If the former did not have Violet Devilite’s support, his HP would have been halfway-depleted by now. As for Black Rock, he and the Lich were now scuffling along one of the cliffs in the valley. Taking advantage of his surroundings, Black Rock hurled huge boulders off the rift to fend off the Lich’s powerful attack. So far, they were not in grave danger yet... at the very least.

Finally, there was Homme Fatale.

He was able to trap the Lich inside his Lightning Net after crushing its barrier with his Sundering Electric Arrow. The Lich started to succumb to its paralyzing effects after being zapped again and again by the electric net.

Noticing Qin Ruo rising up to the sky, Homme Fatale knew that the Lich on the ground was now trapped and being handled well by the ground forces. He cocked his head at Dinosaurcerer, who was struggling, and said, “Go help him.”

“Fuck! Mind your own business! I got this! Everything’s under control!” Dinosaurcerer yelled out angrily as he was holding off the Lich.

“Then I’ll come help the one who’s under its control.”

Qin Ruo shrugged and glided over, ignoring Dinosaurcerer’s objection.

After fighting with Dinosaurcerer for about half a minute, the Lich had now lost its shield to his persistent attacks. Suddenly, it was struck by a series of Ice magic and its flight ability then got nullified.

Seeing that his prey fell straight into the depths of the valley, Dinosaurcerer furiously barked at the Berserker who was standing far away: “Judge!! Bring your Lich over here!”

“Dinoshitcerer! How about you quit sulking and come help me?!” yelled Black Rock, who was still struggling on the cliff.

In the meantime, a few hundred players were peeking from the outside of the Death Valley, trying to see what’s going on inside. Yet, they were not brave enough to step through the entrance for the Fallen Angels’ Tier 5 Champions were guarding the entrance. In addition were also several Winged Champions guarding the airspace of the entrance, much like Guardian Angels overlooking the place. No one was willing to mess with them.

Besides, none of these “guards” seemed to be affected by the situation inside or showed any signs of wanting to enter the valley to aid the team inside. This should have meant that the Fallen Angels had everything under control in there.

“Tsk tsk tsk....”

Several players, who were lying lazily under the trees near the entrance, stared at the guards at the valley’s entrance and sighed. “That was expected from the clan that is top on the Honor Point Leaderboard. It would seem that they’re quite good at what they do.”

“I don’t really see much skill or strength. They sure have a great line-up... but do they really need to put those damn guards at the entrance? What a bloody joke. They’re not even a league yet and they’re showing off. And even if they’ve succeeded in forming a league, causing a ruckus like this would definitely cause a lot of unrest.”

After hearing several of his teammates’ complaints, that person replied with a smile, “Alright that’s enough. These guys have a lot of people in their ranks. So it’s only natural that they have more rules to keep their members grounded. We’ll be like that one day too. So let’s not do this. It’ll be like a pot calling the kettle black.”

“Clan Leader, I’m still baffled by what’s going on here. The boss of the Fallen Angel’s is still stuck in the Underworld. And yet they still have time to do all these Honor Quests, as if competing with Netherspirit’s Claw to be in the Top One League. It’s really abnormal, don’t you think?” said one of his underlings pointing out his doubt.

The “Clan Leader” raised his eyebrow and smiled at the underling. “There must be a reason for every phenomenon. Sometimes, you’ve to think out of the box. Let’s try to think it in this way... In what situation would it be ‘normal’ enough for them to attempt these Honor Quests? Well, I suppose you all know the answer now...”

“...”

They looked at each other in surprise after listening to their “Clan Leader” and remained silent for a few moments. Then suddenly, a loud exploding roar was heard from the Death Valley!! Upon hearing this, they could not help but leap up...

Naturally, the roar surprised the other hundreds of spectating players in the area. They all peeked into the valley’s entrance. The sound was...
