Vol.2-Chapter 269 – Nascent Soul

Aside from the stone platform at the center, there were stone platforms at the four corners. This stone platform extended from the bottom of the blood pool, so only the top could be seen. The remaining ? of the platform was under the blood pool.

The five stone platforms were greyish-white, and each one was different from the other. They had different, strange patterns carved on them, but it was impossible to see what they depicted. One could only tell that they were mysterious patterns and that the stone platforms contained some unknown functions.

There was a figure sitting on each of the five platforms. The person in the middle had grey hair and his face was so skinny, it seemed like there was no flesh. This made his aquiline nose even more obvious. He was the Blood Fiend Pavilion’s Pavilion Master, Wang Changrui.

At this moment, Wang Changrui’s eyes were closed and his body was glowing red. The strange pattern on the stone platform below him gave off a dazzling, red fog. If one didn’t look closely, it would be impossible to see.

The surfaces of the other four platforms in the corners were the same, and four elders of the Blood Fiend Pavilion sat on each corner.

The Blood Fiend Pavilion had nine elders and one pavilion master. They were all at the Nascent Soul Realm. The two figures anxiously pacing beside the blood pool were two other elders, watching the pavilion master in the middle. If they succeed, they would share the glory.

Just at this moment, anxious footsteps echoed and the two of them immediately turned around. When they saw that it was the Fifth Elder, they let out sighs of relief. This was a critical moment, so they were all very tense.

The Fifth Elders let out a sigh of relief when he saw the two of them. He also secretly looked at the blood pool before withdrawing his gaze. However, thinking about the call of help he had received, he became tense once more.

The person in front had a burly figure with pale hair and a kind face. He looked like an amiable old man instead of a cruel evil cultivator. He was the Blood Fiend Pavilion’s Head Elder.

To his left was a young man who was somewhat handsome, but his eyes were mischievous and a bit cold, and his arms were folded. He was the Blood Fiend Pavilion’s Eighth Elder.

“Old Five, what’s so urgent? Did something happen?” The Head Elder’s voice was faint. There were two layers of defenses outside, and for the Fifth Elder to rush in like this, something must have happened. Although he was nervous, he still remained calm and didn’t panic like the Fifth Elder.

The Fifth Elder calmed his breath for a moment and swallowed a few times. “Four cultivators of unknown origin have appeared. Third Brother and Ninth Brother have sent out a call for help. Presumably, even with their strength, along with the dozens of disciples, they are not a match for the enemy.”

After his voice echoed, the Head Elder frowned. Four people? Even if four people came from Deer Mountain, the Third Elder wouldn’t be in such a bad situation. He knew how strong the Third Elder was, so who were these people?

“Let’s go, the three of us will go together with the disciples in the stone room. No matter what, we must stop them. The Pavilion Master is about to succeed.” The Head Elder couldn’t figure it out and decided to just head up there himself. If there was any danger, they would need to save the Third Elder and Ninth Elder.

After the Head Elder finished speaking, he turned toward the blood pool and explained the situation to the Pavilion Master. The Pavilion Master, Wang Changrui, didn’t move. The Head Elder looked at the Pavilion Master and the other four elders before leaving with the Eighth Elder and the Fifth Elder.

A moment later, silence returned to this dark cave.

The situation in the canyon had changed greatly and was no longer in a stalemate like before.

First, the Ninth Elder finally revealed an opening after being forced on the defense for so long. Ling Bo Re had managed to land a ray of sword energy on his fat body, and even though he had guarded it with spirit force, he had suffered serious injuries.

The pain made his face twist in pain. The Ninth Elder was in a sorry state, and he looked at Ling Bo Re with a gloomy gaze. He didn’t expect her sword art to be so amazing. If this continued, he might die.

Thinking about this, the Ninth Elder revealed a fierce gaze and his eyes narrowed. After hesitating a bit, he took out a string of beads. The beads were greyish-white and looked strange. Once the light disappeared, the appearance of the beads was revealed.

Ling Bo Re’s expression changed when she saw the beads. She couldn’t help but shout, “Evil monsters, committing such an atrocity! Go die!”

It turned out that the string of beads in the Ninth Elder’s hand was made of thumb bones, how could Ling Bo Re not be enraged?

She couldn’t help but send out several rays of sword energy forward. The Ninth Elder threw the beads into the air and clenched his teeth before spitting out some blood essence onto the greyish-white beads.

The string of beads released a burst of black light. The Ninth Elder’s face became pale and his aura weakened greatly after spitting out that blood essence. It looked like the Ninth Elder was willing to damage his body to break free from his battle with Ling Bo Re.

A ray of sword energy moved toward the beads. Why allow such an evil treasure to remain?

The enraged Ling Bo Re continued to brandish one strike another another onto the bead.

However, the treasure’s power had increased greatly due to the blood essence. This was the Ninth Elder’s life treasure, and although he had just reached the Nascent Soul Realm, he had refined it a few times. Coupled with the blood essence he used, it erupted with power and he was about to break free from Ling Bo Re. There was a powerful burst of light accompanied by a strange, cold wind. This caused the surrounding trees to shake and made everything a bit gloomier.

A crisp sound echoed. The string of beads remained still and the dark light spread forward, intending to harm Ling Bo Re.

Seeing that one strike was not enough, Ling Bo Re moved her Falling Flower Sword and released even more powerful rays of sword energy. The rays of sword energy fell down on the string of beads like rain.

The string of beads trembled violently, but it was undamaged. The Ninth Elder’s body trembled and his face became even more pale. His fat face looked like a pale, white bun right now.

Ling Bo Re’s expression became ugly as she stubbornly used her sword art once more. She ignored her own condition and continued to use her sword art, one strike after another. If her attacks before were like the droplets of water, her attacks now were like a raging river. Layer after layer of powerful sword energy stacked on each other. Her attack caused no less commotion than the Third Elder and Song Rujing, who were at the late stage of the Soul Formation Realm.

This strike was Ling Bo Re’s peak, and it was very good for her current cultivation. If she wanted to release an even more powerful strike, her body wouldn\'t be able to keep up. Her comprehension of the Hundred Flower Sword Art had reached a profound level, but her cultivation couldn’t keep up.

The Ninth Elder’s eyes almost popped out when he saw the shocking sword energy, and he could only hope his life treasure could hold on. Normally, he wouldn’t be placed into such a sorry situation, but he had to encounter an enraged Ling Bo Re.

A thunderous bang echoed across the canyon. The beads scattered and a mass of dark light fell from the sky.

The Ninth Elder only felt his leg go soft and felt like he was about to fall from the sky. Due to the backlash from his life treasure, he couldn’t stop coughing out blood. Most of his spirit force had disappeared and his face was deathly pale. It was unknown if his face was pale due to his injury or fear.

Before the Ninth Elder could have any other thoughts, the residual sword energy cut the Ninth Elder’s body into pieces. Body parts scattered across the canyon mixed with some blood.

“Old Nine!”

A hysterical roar echoed across the sky. When the Third Elder, who was battling Song Rujing, saw this, he let out a piercing cry. He looked sad. A brother he had cultivated with for so many years had died.

But Ling Bo Re didn’t relax at all and stared at the Ninth Elder’s body. She kept her spirit force ready and her sword energy locked onto the ground.

A startling scene unfolded. The Ninth Elder’s body suddenly began to move after a while and there were spirit force fluctuations.

A ray of light shot out from the belly of the Ninth Elder, wanting to escape into the tunnel leading into the belly of the mountain.

Ling Bo Re let out a cold short and her eyes were filled with indifference. Her hand formed a seal and the Falling Flower Sword in her hand flew out, catching up to that light.

That light was originally a ?-meter-tall nascent soul. From its appearance, it was the Ninth Elder. Its face was filled with fear. It was fine for his body to be destroyed, as long as his nascent soul remained he could recover his body.

He thought he had managed to fool Ling Bo Re by hiding his nascent soul inside his body. However, when he noticed the sword energy locked onto him, he knew he had to risk it. If he could make it back into the bottom of the mountain, the Pavilion Master and the other elders were there.

The Falling Flower Sword instantly caught up to the nascent soul. Even though the nascent soul was wearing a precious treasure-grade armor, how could it defend against a flying sword like this? The nascent soul was also very weak; it’s not as powerful as his original body.

The nascent soul and armor were pierced through by the Falling Flower Sword before it turned around and returned to Ling Bo Re.

This time, the Ninth Elder was really dead. No aura remained, and even his nascent soul had fallen to the ground.

Ling Bo Re looked at the Ninth Elder’s body with disgust and showed no interest in his treasures. Her purple origin fire flew out and destroyed the remains of the Ninth Elder completely.

Just like this, the Ninth Elder fell completely. Ling Bo Re was the first to finish her battle, and she stood there just like Song Yuansheng. She didn’t rush into the other battles but quietly watched. She took out a crystal-clear pill and swallowed it.
