Chapter 250 248- Mu Fan’s Master
It wasn’t wise for Mu Fan to be conjuring his Blade Intent like this. Just it becoming crippled wasn’t the end of what could happen.
The Heavenly Blade in the air soon fade away and the disciples on the Sword Pavilion who saw it were wondering what it was.
As for the ones below with Li Shen, they felt the heavy pressure on their shoulders lifted.
Having that relief after being under that terrifying pressure, some of them fell to their butts while some remain standing with trembling legs.
They all were looking at Mu Fan with shuddering hearts. The impression they had of him was of an oddball who loved to do and say ridiculous things but seeing him release such might, that viewpoint completely changed.
“Was brother Mu Fan that strong? He seems like the strongest out of the people Elder brother has under his command.”
The other disciples nodded their heads to that statement.
These were disciples that didn’t know about Chosens, or of Jun, Mu Fan, and the others\' positions. They only know that they were talented enough to receive monikers.
Jun who was nearby with Lihua was scowling at their words. He then let out a huff that echoed in their ears.
The disciples seeing his reaction had wryly smiles appear on their faces.
Mu Fan after retrieving his Blade Intent, had his figure quickly disappear before appearing on the ground, showcasing his immense speed.
Li Shen moved towards him and Mu Fan went to take a step back ready to run, but Li Shen glared at him as if saying if he did he wouldn’t like what happens after.
Mu Fan wore a helpless expression and remained where he was.
Li Shen came in front of him and raised his hand.
Mu Fan gritted his teeth and wondered.
‘What is this demon going to do? Dammit!’
He had suffered at Li Shen’s hands many times over the years, so much so he had developed an instinctive fear of him.
Those instincts told him to run, but as Li Shen’s hand got closer he didn’t dare move.
Mu Fan closed his eyes ready to suffer from excruciating pain, but he only felt Li Shen’s hand land on his shoulder.
Mu Fan then sensed Li Shen’s Divine Will entering his body and after doing a full circle examination, stopping longer at his dantian which contain an intangible red blade, it quickly left his body.
Mu Fan then heard Li Shen let out a sigh and pat his shoulder.
Cracking open his eyes, Mu Fan saw Li Shen looking at him with a look of relief.
“Don’t do something so foolish again, you hear me?”
Mu Fan nodded his head slowly, not used to this side of Li Shen. It was mostly reserved for Jun and Yang Su, but this just showed that despite not always showing it he cared about his well-being similarly.
Mu Fan felt a warm emotion well up in his heart, but that quickly dried up when Li Shen’s hand suddenly shot out and flicked his forehead.
An audible bang resounded out and all the disciples flinched back at the sound.
Mu Fan’s head snapped back, almost seeming like his neck was about to detach from his shoulder.
Falling to the ground, Mu Fan held his forehead and wiggled uncontrollably. His head was throbbing and it felt as if someone had pierced it with a pointed pickax.
Despite his pitiful wails, Li Shen ignored him.
Mu Fan might be in pain, but he was wildly exaggerating it. Out of everyone in the group, Mu Fan was the only one with a physique strong enough to withstand one of Li Shen’s blows.
Given the nature of Li Shen’s physique, that was saying a lot.
Turning to the man in the sky, Li Shen asked.
“Might I know who sir is?”
The middle-aged man who was silently watching this scene play out smiled at Li Shen’s words.
“Mu Fan’s Master.”
The man simply said.
Li Shen was taken aback by that to say the least.
He went to say something, but Mu Fan who heard that immediately spoke up from the ground.
“Master? You aren’t my Master, I don\'t remember taking anyone as my Master… Wait, did I?”
Mu Fan’s bad memory kicked in and a blank expression appeared on his face.
This always happened when he was trying to think, or recall something. Soon after, he turned to the man in the sky, his expression different this time.
Standing up, he took a closer look at the man, narrowed eyes and all.
Suddenly, his eyes went round before he pointed at the man who was coming down to the ground and yelled.
“It’s you!”
Mu Fan had obviously recalled the man’s identity.
Everyone who saw this thought this was typical Mu Fan behavior to forget someone.
However, Mu Fan\'s expression soon become filled with complicated emotions as he said.
“Grandfather.”
Everyone froze upon hearing that, even Li Shen.
‘Grandfather?’
As everyone tried to wrap their heads around that, they turned to look at the middle-aged man but saw that his expression was the same as theirs.
“Brat who is your Grandfather? Did the Cultivation Method I gave you really mess up your head?”
A smile broke out on Mu Fan’s face and certain memories started rushing back to him.
“Grandfather!”
Mu Fan suddenly yelled before rushing towards the middle-aged man to wrap his hands around him, though the middle-aged man held his head and kept him at a distance.
“So you finally remembered you shameless brat. I went into seclusion leaving you to cultivate, thinking it’d be a while before you reached the Sixth Stage of the Blade Symphony. But you went ahead and reached the Eighth Stage, and like a stubborn fool you forcefully cultivated it without my instructions.”
Mu Fan became indignant as he said.
“You old bastard, you said you were going to come back in six months, it’s been six years and you just showed up!”
Everyone hearing their conversation was confused.
\'So he wasn\'t his grandfather?\'
Li Shen was confused as well and so he said to Mu Fan.
“Mu Fan, you mind telling us who this person is?”
Li Shen had his guesses seeing the man\'s red robes but he wasn’t entirely sure.
Mu Fan hearing that, turned to Li Shen as well as Jun, Lihua, and the other group members who had appeared because of the commotion.
“Remember the story I told you guys about how I came to the Academy? Well, it’s related to that.”
Hearing Mu Fan speaking and seeing his demeanor, Li Shen, Jun, and the others wondered if a ghost had possessed him.
Gone were his crazy way of speaking and his fiery temperament. What replaced it was a well-spoken and calm young man.
Jun was the most shocked of them and he had to rub his eyes to see if he was dreaming.
“What’s with you? Stop acting like your a sane person you complete lunatic.”
Jun said after a while, and unlike his usual reaction, Mu Fan simply smiled at him and said.
“No, I’m not acting brother Jun, this is how I am.”
Jun grimaced and took a step back from him. He didn\'t see the aura around Mu Fan turn red, so that meant he was telling the truth.
“It’s because of the cultivation method cultivate, it’s been affecting my behavior all this while.”
Li Shen hearing that, had indistinguishable flames appear in his eyes as he looked at Mu Fan.
However, he frowned as he saw that nothing in his heart was different from before. No abnormally that would indicate his change in behavior.
‘Split personality?’
Li Shen wondered but wasn’t entirely sure.
Mu Fan continued to speak, not just creeping out Jun, Lihua, and the others, but the crowd of disciples in the back as well.
Mu Fan looked like a completely different person all of a sudden.
“This person is the Headmaster of the Blade Pavilion.”
Mu Fan said as he presented the middle-aged man with both hands and a smile.
